if it makes you all feel good: Tiago would go #2.
nonsense? sure. but as long as he hasn't played in the NBA, we could claim whatever we want.
btw. since this hype comes from some games at the WC (because most didn't see a single game from him before), why doesn't Yi make this list? I mean, he averages like 25 points and he has put 26 and 14 on a not so bad Greek front court.
ah, you say he already has played some NBA and know we know he isn't that good, because his scoring efficiency in the NBA is horrible. right. so maybe someone gets my point.
btw. no Carl Landry? he has been more productive per minute than any player from this draft outside Durant. thought this would count for something.
I will wait at least till all star break 2011 before I redo the draft. and yes, I do hope that then Tiago would be #2. and would still be happy if he is in fact a #10.

I don't remember all the players from that draft, but according to that list, imo it should be:

    1.Kevin Durant
    2.Al Horford
    3.Joakim Noah
    4.Aaron Brooks
    5.Greg Oden
    6.Marc Gasol
    7.Tiago Splitter
    8.Jeff Green
    9.Rodney Stuckey
    10.Thaddeus Young
Here's how I would list these ten.

    1. Durant
    2. Marc Gasol
    3. Al Horford
    4. Greg Oden
    5. Noah
    6. Brooks
    7. Splitter
    8. Stuckey
    9. Green
    10. Thaddeus

This is as far as I got in the thread, but I hope that someone laid the smack down on Galileo for trying to compare DRob and his situation with Tiago and his. Despite the fact that the situations are wildly different David and Tiago should never be mentioned in any sentence outside of "____ and ____ have both worn spurs jerseys in their career."
^^^^^^^^ This here, no comparison and never will be.

Splitter needs to play in the NBA before anyone tries to establish where he should have went in the draft...

The top 10 teams would not have waited 3 years for Splitter because they need help immediately. Splitter is not a world changing talent like David Robinson who was worth waiting for 2 years.

    1. Kevin Durant
    2. Al Horford
    3. Greg Oden
    4. Al Horford
    5. Joakim Noah
    6. Aaron Brooks
    7. Rodney Stuckey
    8. Marc Gasol
    9. Carl Landry
    10. Thaddeus Young

Where would Splitter go if they re-did the 2007 draft?

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2007.html

    Galileo says:

    1. Durant
    2. Horford
    3. Green
    4. Splitter
    5. Noah

FYI, Yi Jianlian's stats is much better than Splitter's this week.

Its hard to say where he would go but I sure am glad the spurs got him cause he is going to be a huge help inside. I have high hopes for Splitter! Dont get me wrong, I don't think he is going to be the next Timmy but I think he is going to be a top 10 center within the next 2 years.

    1. Kevin Durant

    3. Greg Oden
    4. Marc Gasol
    5. Joakim Noah
    6. Thad Young
    7. Aaron Brooks
    8. Jeff Green
    9. Rodney Stuckey
    10. Tiago Splitter

If he has a rookie season similar to what people expect.. then he would probably move up to about 5 or 6.. but i think he has to prove something in the NBA before he would go ahead of some of the guys above him.

You should know that NBA scouts do not just go by stats. They go by skills. Splitter has skills that Yi don't got.

knowing Oden health issues, I'd rank him lower. For the rest it's a solid 10

Splitter would have been the first pick of the second round.

we are talking about draft pick correct? then we are talking about Splitter in top 10, because draft is all about potential. And a solid bigman is worth gold.

We don't know how exactly he will fare, but the potential is there. (see greg oden/kwame brown/human victory cigar/etc)

I agree that he would probably have gone in the top 10 if he had been available straight away, since for many teams a good big man prospect is always something to go for.

But just redoing the draft there's just no way to put him above Marc Gasol (14 & 9 in 35 minutes) or Noah (11 & 11 in 30 minutes !!), who have already proved they can do it at the NBA level.

I'm not sure how much PT Splitter will get, but if he had stats comparable to Noah then that would make the Spurs immediate top contenders.

Hey chaz, I almost agree . But I would take Splitter before Brooks and move down Stuckey a bit.
My reasoning is Brooks is a 20-pt scorer right now and shoots a great clip from 3. For the upcoming season... I'd personally rather have Brooks

As for Stuckey... he has just been hampered by high expectations. Jeff Green cannot be more than the 5th best player on a championship team, and Thaddeus, while he has shown potential, is a fringe starter at this point, even though he obviously has alot of potential to still be a good NBA player. Stuckey struggles because he's more of a 2-guard in my opinion. That team is so loaded at the 2 though, there's zero chance he gets any minutes at the two this season.
