Actually Brazil could've won this game if Barbosa didn't have a negative BBIQ. But that's the beauty of elimination games, win or go home.
Brazil's coach the bed to begin the game by starting with Splitter on the bench taking Splitter out of the groove he had been in.
The last few games, with Vaginao out , Splitter was playing a pretty great all-around game.
Brazil's coach finally puts Splitter in at the end of the first quarter and lets him play a couple of minutes.
Dumbass Coach then takes a time out and just tears into Splitter for a long time and sits him until the 3rd quarter.
I don't know if Splitter ed up that bad (surely not any worse than Vavoso...err Barbosa) but in a very big game that coach just threw away the first half.
Oberto seemed to be playing hack ball out there and appeared to be extra aggressive against Splitter but I never saw Splitter back down in the limited minutes he played.
Splitter will be fine and believe me, being soft will not be as issue.

Splitter will learn. Scola's older and more experienced. Look back at Timmy's first few games against Karl Malone. It took him a few looks at the mailman before he turned Karl into his biotch.
Comparing the two even makes sense when you consider that defenses dictate that the two aren't necessarily covering each other on both sides of the floor.
Splitter will be fine.

He's not soft.
I think he can improve in a lot of areas like shooting and post game but he's not soft at all
The NBA is soft,
Scola thread ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Would have been a great compliment to Scola though.
wgaf
He's not Bonner.
Curiously, Splitter's stat line is better than Varejao in this game against Argentina.
I don't think Splitter did anything majorly wrong. Scola was just a monster on the court.
They have different roles tbh. Splitter is more of a complementary player to guys like Barbo, Varejao or Huertas. Scola is the life and blood of Argentina.
When asked about gaining weight Splitter's said he prefers the quickness from being lighter.
Y'all doubters are funny. The Brazilian team was horribly coached. He should not have been out there with Varajao. It messed up the flow of the offense. There wasn't any chemistry in their NT team.
The kid is 25, haters. At 30, Scola's age, he would be a more seasoned, developed player. Plus they are two totally different kinds of players. Splitter Never played in NBA. If he is still at this level in a year then continue the hate...till then hold ur tongue and watch more than a few games.
Splitter right now=role player. Scola=all star
so if he IS soft what in the is GASOL?????
Very well said...Those who talk splitter down usually only look at box scores and have never even seen him play.
splitter is anything but soft he played practically every minute of his regular season games last year and set screens that whole time while banging down low i havent seen anything soft about him, did you see Andy V?? if you call splitter soft andy v was falling everywhere being pushed around splitter is trying to draw charges hes not actually flying like that ive seen guys fall full force into his knee many times and the dude acts like nothing hits him if that happened to timmy we'd be screw'd for about 2 week, splitter will make scola his biatch in about 2years and well see all you haters have splitter sigs

A seven-foot cotton candy with mad post skills
I am offended by your use of the N word.
I do agree about Splitter though...
If he gets his weight up to 260 pounds I think he should be fine. He weighs 235 pounds currently so thats not going to happen overnight. 25 pounds of muscle should take about 2 1/2 years.
Yeah Im gonna listen to the ramblings of a poster who glorifies a murder.
Yeah ok.
We'll see if he still feels the same way after a year or two.
Almost all big men with Splitter's body type bulked up as their careers went on. Garnett, J. O'Neal, Gasol, Bosh, Varejao, Noah, etc.. Despite some of their outdated listings, those guys are all between 245-260 now. When they entered the league, they were between 220-240.
well I gotta agree Splitter is on the soft side. But he could possibly do things that many centers dont do in the NBA. SUch as be a pick n roll threat, passing, offensive rebounds, and intangibles, such as drawing fouls and being a precense.
IMO Splitter will come through with most of those things and become a unique center in the NBA. He will remind ppl of a Vlade Divac.
will he get pushed around and beat up? yeah, but he will outsmart the opponents.
