We have a PG, its Tony. We need a decend backup PG though, Beno is ok but very innexperienced. Plus, he tries to make behind-the-backs at the worst times. Manu is doing too much already to be a backup PG. So we don't have many options.

    No.

Tony needs to step it up. He is the PG of the Spurs. Manu could be the back-up PG for very limited minutes, but Tony is the one pulling the strings.

he basically runs the anyway, no need to put a label as such on him
true... but don't tell that to Parker.

I'd send Tony and Rasho (or Nazr) to the Wizards for Larry Hughes, a tall #2, ala the Ice Man, and a leader in steals, 20+ points per game, clutch performer, fearless, and plays with a passion. I'd get Juan Dixon somehow to take the place of a Steve Kerr type of player we need. It's obvious Barry isn't going to ghet the job done.

Manu would be a perfect #1. He already is. Tony could not have made that play that beat the Sonics.

It may be possible. The Wizards wouldn't keep Tony because they have Arenas, but they can make a deal with a third team for a player they need.

I didn't like the position of him piggy back on Timmy at the end of the game!
Manu was totally excited and I am guessing he is waiting to win it all to throw himself
to the floor but don't put 205 lbs on Timmy's ankle!!!!
Timmy wasn't too excited of having Manu riding him. It didn't seem to me.

Point Guard = assists. TP in game 6 = 3 assists.
Point Guard DOES NOT = assists. A point guard runs the team, assists are a perk of the position. Yes Manu made a great pass at the end, but did you see all the bad passes he made the rest of the game. Manu plays all out, which is great but also leads to numerous turnovers. Tony has come to understand what it means to run the point. He will speed it up when he needs to and slow it down when needed. Manu doesn't have that, which is fine because he doesn't need to. We need Manu to be a 2-guard, a scorer, a high energy player, not the point.

Tony was disapointing in this series but so has been Duncan. Let Manu play the PF also!
Ginobili is the fan favorite and he had a great begining of this playoff, but if we don't win the championship it won't mean anything.
If Tony has a great series against Nash and the Spurs advance to the final, it won't be a reason to trade Ginobili.
People are fast in criticizing players or loving them.
Manu is one of the best SG and maybee the best for the Spurs. Moving him to the point is as silly as saying that the difference between him and Parker is as big as between Pippen and Jordan.

Manu is a SG, and moving him to PG makes TPark completely useless.

You're a fool. I yearn for the day TOny can "disappoint" and score 35.

And let's not even get into FT shooting, Tony is making Tim look like Steve Kerr.

And finally, Duncan, for all his sucking on offense, was still rebounding, playing defense, and setting picks.

Tony was getting lit up by Luke Ridnour.

When you say about a player that he is disapointing, you judge him from what you expected him to do.
By this stan you can say that both Tony and Tim are disapointing at their level.
Tony is a 23 year point guard and Duncan is a double MVP, their perfomance can't be compared.
If Duncan was his usual self, no one will be complaining about his game. He had a 35 point game, but Tony had 29 points in the first game of the serie too.
I am not bashing him, I hope they both will improve their game against the Suns or Mavericks. Do you really want Manu playing the point?

I don't think anyone REALLY thinks Manu would be a better point than TP, we're just all really disappointed at how much TP's level of play has declined.
