he basically runs the anyway, no need to put a label as such on him
yes or no?

No. Option 1A on offense? Yes.
I was going to ask the same question!! What's up with Tony and the lack of assist lately?? I mean, I don't know what has happened to him lately. He really seems out of sinc!
I think it should be a serious consideration.
Nope, Tony is a stud. Manu just needs the ball down the stretch.
Manu is sorta playing a Kobe or Jordanesque role. Both Kobe and Jordan had point guards, but the offense still ran through them. The point guard can spend the energy bringing the ball up, and Manu can spend his actually running the half court offense.
PG? No.
Like someone said though, option 1A on offense, yes.
Exactly but then we would need Tony to start worrying more about making assists than actual scoring. He seems more preocupied with scoring than actual distributing of the ball.
No, Tony steped up in the 4th qtr!!! Hit some big shots!!!
Tony went under the radar, but hit two crucial shots in the fourth and didn't turn the ball over. Plus, he hustled on Defense. I love what I'm seeing out of Tony.
Point Guard = assists. TP in game 6 = 3 assists.
No. TP should. Should Manu have the ball in the last minute. Most definitely.
*sigh*, you don't get it do you?
Manu is a better creator and initiator than Tony.
Tony is a better scorer (particularly when his shot gets going) than Manu.
You run the offense through Manu, and let Tony use his speed to run around and get free for open jumpers.
Meanwhile, Manu is slicing and diceing and setting his teammates up.
Manu has ten times the court vision of Tony, and it'll never change.
As much as I hate to mention it, we should be using Tim and Manu like Phil used Shaq and Kobe.
Let the big man do the heavy lifting the first three quarters, then in the fourth when offenses like to bog down on the big man, you turn your perimeter monster loose.
Or think of it as baseball - let Tim start and bring in Manu to close it out.
Our Point Guard=Points and when he's going he = domination.
Tru that, tru that! although it would be nice if he started dominating now plz!
I think using Manu and Tim like Shaq and Kobe is pretty much right on.
But, Tony is no way a better scorer than Manu. Actually, I see nothing Tony does that is better than Manu. Still, there is only one Manu. Tony's not a great distributor, or as good as Manu...but, when he's on, he is pretty effective in what he does do.
Kobe Bryant isn't a PG, yet you want him with the ball in crunch-time to create.
Manu isn't a PG, yet you want him with the ball in crunch-time to create.
Comparing Tony to Manu is unfair. Pippen was great but comapring him to Jordan made Pippen look like crap. Tony is a great player in his own right, Manu is freakish.
My point exactly![]()
