Our trade chips are only James Anderson, Splitter and 30th draft pick of this year. That's why, we can't get a complimentary part to a contender by these guys.
I would disagree. I think our most likely trade has us sending away Chris Quinn in conjunction with the 1st round pick. Hence the maximum salary that we will be allowed to receive back is 1.19M (125% of Quinn's salary plus 100k).

And before I get the obligatory "Nobody will want Chris Quinn! He has no value!" please realize that HE is not the target, the pick is. Quinn only makes the money work.

Let's assume that it's correct, but what could we get in return of 1.19M?

Could this slowness be from a slight weight gain? Does he look heavier or is he simply, as Pop put it, "woefully out of shape?"
Care to make any assumptions as to why he looks so slow? Does this look like a classic case of hesitation and apprehension after an injury?
Doesn't look much heavier, though he never struck me as particularly skinny in the first place. Doesn't really look hesitant; he didn't really the single trauma type injury that would lead to that. Seems to tire pretty quickly. Was huffing and puffing and grabbing his shorts just a few minutes into tonight's game. Noticed he was driving into a lot of traffic; otherwise still has a decent feel for the game. Just needs time to get back into shape.

    Wouldn't we all?
But it was just a hypothetical scenario that would make the Spurs better and nothing else of substance.

Bruno mentioned this player already, but what about bill walker? If the knicks indeed need a 1st rd pick we could send quinn+1st rd pick for walker+cash

Guess there is something. Bucks are stacked on SF with Maggette, Delfino, Salmons, CDR possible Redd. On PF they got Gooden, Ilyasova, Brockman. They arent going anywhere this season, they could use this pick on PG or C. Mbah A Moute isnt much, cause he was a 2nd round pick. Spurs 30th pick is still a 1st round pick.

Bucks definately can do this .

There's no way Milwaukee is giving away Mbah Moute. He's one of the best defenders in the league. He has the quickness and physicality to shut down perimeter guys and the size and strength to guard PFs also. He did a great job on Blake Griffin the other night. Plus he's dirt cheap, though a restricted free agent after this season. I think it would take something substantial to pry him from the Bucks.

If the Spurs trade Quinn for someone, I would actually target T-Mac. Cheap contract, has gotten over himself (he's been a good guy in Detroit - no complaints about coming off the bench, minutes or whatever), plenty of skill, can back up the 1, 2 or 3. Has a jumpshot, .356 on 3's this season. Wants a ring...He'd be a pretty good fit.

I was trying to figure out when they're going to bring James back. They have a quick out and back to Frisco TX to play the legends after the ASB, and then a home stand of 5 games from FEB 24 thru MAR 5. They then have 5 road games, but 4 of them are in TX and the other is Tulsa.

I've thought of this too...but Detroit is pretty high on him. Unless he requests a buyout to play for a contender I don't see it happening.

Yeah, I'm sure Detroit likes him, but a) they ain't going anywhere this season, and b) He ain't sticking around (unless he's utterly fallen in love with the organization/city). He's on a 1 year vet min contract to prove he still has game, which he has done.
Next year, he's looking for more money or a ring shot. I can't see Detroit paying him enough to live with their rebuilding project. Rather, he'll hook on with a contender at the vet min.
Which makes him a trade chip now. Especially to a contender, which Tracy would like because it gets him a ring shot. The question is what would it cost?

    Quinn + Spurs 2011 1st? for T-Mac, Detroit 2011 2nd?

That might work. Maybe if there are no other bidders, Detroit does T-mac a solid by doing a straight T-mac for Quinn switch...

Honest to God, we don't need any more offense. If we did, we would bring back Anderson.
What we absolutely NEED is a lock down defender in the worst way.
Mbah Moute would be as close to perfect as we might be able to get in this league right now. The problem, how do we get him away from Milw.?
