James Anderson played 3 games on Toros last few days and when I look stats I didn't see anything special: 14-15 pts in 25 minutes action. Did any of you watch the games, how is he playing?
I am curious about that too. Any more news about him?
No improvement since coming back from injury?
Actually seems to be slower on his second assignment. Still has good instincts and a good shooting stroke, just looks like he's running in molasses.
After that kinfd of injury I think he needs some time to take back full confidence just in running and moving his feet as before.
Just needs to get in shape and Pop's going about it the right way by having him play in Austin.
I wouldn't expect him to be a factor at all for the A-team this year. The bench doesn't need to accomodate another player.
Could this slowness be from a slight weight gain? Does he look heavier or is he simply, as Pop put it, "woefully out of shape?"
Sorry but in the Playoffs I will take James Anderson over Stevie Novak any day of the week.
probably tanning in Miami... hopefully regretting his decision.
nah, doubt it.
Novak won't be seeing the floor, either.
About Anderson, is it likely that he switches to #23 now that Gee is no longer here (next year)? I think I remember hearing he wanted the number, but Gee already had it when he came to the Spurs.
dude could break both his feet and he'd still be faster than Novak/Udoka.
Let's hope his slowness is just because of a lack of conditioning. His injury was really serious and could have taken a part of his athleticism. *fingers crossed*
Trade deadline is in 8 days. If Anderson doesn't show some improvements at that time, Spurs doing a minor trade to get some depth at SF could be a good idea. Otherwise, there is the possibility to sign a player bought out before the March 1st deadline but it require that a good SF is waived and wants to play in SA. What is sure is that Spurs roster has a hole at SF and thsi hole must be fixed before the playoffs.
Novak won't be around that long, so that's not a choice that will need to be made. His first 10 day ends after Thursday's game. He may or may not be signed to another one. After that, the Spurs will take some time, up to two weeks, and fill that 13th spot with another player on a 10 day.
Oh, and JA's minutes are going up.

This can only be good. It seems without workout, this kid gets out of shape pretty quickly.
Some potential SF buyout candidates: J. Graham, Moon, R. Butler, Peterson, Kapono.
Can't see the Spurs pursuing the two Cavs. Graham can't shoot and Moon is an airhead. The other three, I think the Spurs would sign.
The Celtics will probably also be on the lookout for an SF, as well. But they're not nearly as strict as the Spurs when it comes to personality, reputation, etc., so I could see them jumping at the chance to sign Moon.
Two other possibilities: Posey, Ross.
Posey is a long shot, as he's signed through next season. He's fallen out of the rotation, though, so the possibility exists that a buyout could be worked out. But I'd have to imagine he'd pick the Celtics before he would the Spurs. He never really wanted to leave the Celtics, just got too good a deal to turn down with the Hornets.
Ross is really an SG, but he can play some SF. He's buried on the bench and is an expiring contract. He's not a reliable perimeter shooter, so I'd be surprised if the Spurs pursued him.
If they fail to or neglect to sign someone bought out, then I think they'll sign Udoka for the remainder of the season.
7 days or not, precedent says nothing will happen. There are no lopsided trades to make, and the available talent pool is otherwise pretty mediocre. Why not hold on to a cheap rook and hope for better next season?
+1.
9 of our players(Parker, Manu, RJ, Duncan, Blair, Hill, Neal, McDyess, Bonner) can not be used in a trade for several reasons. Our trade chips are only James Anderson, Splitter and 30th draft pick of this year. That's why, we can't get a complimentary part to a contender by these guys.
Tonight: 23 points, 6 boards, 4 assists. Did anyone actually watch to see if he looked quicker?
Care to make any assumptions as to why he looks so slow? Does this look like a classic case of hesitation and apprehension after an injury?
If there is a move it will either be signing a waived Troy Murphy or it will involve trading our 1st round pick for the coming draft.
I do hope Anderson shapes up for the the home stretch, to at the very least spell RJ from time to time. He was playing such great D too.
