Imagine Amare Stoudemire with a defensive game.
Awsome! besides Manu my favourite Spur!
Imagine Amare Stoudemire with a defensive game.
Sooudemire was actually on my mind but I was having a hard time putting Dice in the same sentence with him. But I agree, a smarter, better defending version of Stoudemire.
Great news.
I actually care less about next season. This news means Dyess is feeling good physically recently and there's still something left in the tank for the playoff this season.
awesome, awesome, awesome news.
"Splitter Minutes"!!! thread!!
Great news....Now hope there isnt a lockout next season....
Ill take another 50 game season with our entire 10-11 man rotation returning next year, win back to back trophies and send TD off in style![]()
IIRC, he was somewhat hesitant of leaving Detroit and wanted to retire with the Pistons. I think he's now comfortable and likes the Spurs team and organization. Maybe he realized that playing for the Spurs was better than what he expected.
My thoughts too except for sending TD into retirement.
I think he would stay until the wheels came off.
Lockout or not, TD will re-up for another 2 years IMO.
That's what I think. He will play another couple years for sure and maybe a player option for a 3rd. We'll see what kind of pay cut he takes when negotiating a new contract though.
Wonder if Dyess has any influence on Rip?
if he DID retire...... who could we replace him with?
he's taking up a decent chunk of the salary cap.
having said that.. i love Dice!! glad he'll be back in '12

by Robert Karpeles
San Antonio Spurs forward Antonio McDyess has played for six teams in over 16 seasons in the NBA.
McDyess, 36, said he knows all about the rigors of travel -- eating late and trying to find good spots to hit up some grub.
As of Wednesday, the Spurs were on a nine-game Rodeo road trip. McDyess said that landing late at night into a city and finding food isn't always so easy. "It's always tough," said McDyess. "You don't know when to go to sleep, when not. Some hotels have room service, some don't. Especially for the young guys. It's tougher for them as opposed to us old guys who have a little more experience with this."

Dice will play if there is a season next year. Owners are gonna want to trim salaries, share revenue, adopt a hard cap and get a franchise tag. They will hold out for all of this as the way the league is now about 75% of th teams have no hope of being consistantly compe ive.
Very good news. Just by being around, McDyess will have a lot to offer to the Spurs' next generation. What a role model.
Hopefully the Spurs win a ring this season![]()
At that playing rate, he isn't worth bringing back at $6M. You can get some vet big to twirl a towel a LOT cheaper than that.
he's going to be trade bait in the offseason..
Oh, I think since he wants to come back, and if there is no catastrophic cap or tax connotation for his contract under the new CBA, and they plan to use him the same 18-20 minutes, they'll bring him back.
