I can see us getting one of the 2, not both. I would prefer Superman.

No buffer here. Kobe won it with with guys like Sasha, Luke, and Fartmar. Kobe is proven. Adding Howard and Paul will be like cheating.
all at the directions of Phil Jackson

Mike Brown taking them to the promised land

True, but, CP isn't a panacea.

I wouldn't let Bynum, Gasol, or Odom go for him.

I don't have an answer to that, Muse.

I just foresee endless headaches with both Howard & Paul once they get out there. Howard mentally & Paul physically.

Obviously the first thing to do is to get Pau playing like 2009 Pau. Then the Lakers need a legit backup to Kobe and a starting PG who can defend.

Killa, are you serious? How would a team of Kobe Dwight CP3 not be the favorites. It's like Laker fan is scared Kobe can't cut it so they put in these ludicrous buffers.
Where do I question if Kobe can't cut it? Crowning a team on paper is the same type of stuff that led to the 2004 Lakers implosion and the joy everyone seemed to take in the Heat losing in the finals. Would the Lakers be impressive talent-wise? Yes. But Kobe is on the wrong side of 30, Paul has had a knee injury and Howard is a DPOY but still a work in progress on offense. In theory, the Lakers pieces fit even better than the Heat's did ...
but there would be a shallow bench and if they got both probably a gaping hole at PF ...unless we take some bad contracts back. Brown though a good defensive mind is not PJ, Pop, Carlisle or even Doc Rivers. Though i have warmed up a bit to Brown, he is unproven in the biggest stage. Lebron added some pressure to the Cavs HC position but running the Lakers is a WHOLE nother level. So No, can't say we would be favorites ...but strong contender? Indeed.

All the machinations CP requires to execute his game (like Manu has to do now only CP has done it since day one) is something I don't want to have to bear witness to. I need somebody to make shots and assists, not spend an insanely inordinate amount of time baiting & switching with the refs and pissing off the opponents.
