They would have missed the playoffs with new trade. People underestimating the impact of Cp3 on that squad.

solid point. but it means now that the precedent has been set, paul is not going anywhere otherwise stern would contradict himself. in addition nobody should be singed for more than a 1 year deal. they have 6 players under contract. just sing a bunch of nbdl scrubs
No. If Demps strikes a deal and the owner of the team likes it enough, it goes through.

How is it an awful deal for New Orleans? Scola and Martin allow put up far bigger numbers combined than CP3 and that is before you even factor in Odom and Dragic.

    This is your argument?

*purs fans continue to exhibit a blatant lack of basketball knowledge. Go over to Lakers ground and read my archived posts for a few months. Consider it my free basketball education to you.
Probably just a bunch of whining about the NBA's anti-Laker agenda when they lose.

No trade I have seen was going to GARUNTEE a playoff spot without Paul ...but that was a fair trade ... Lakers had to give up 2 of it's 4 best players some would say 2 of 3 ...

son it was a ing awesome deal for the Hornets. 4 solid players and two draft picks for a 5'10 point guard with a bum knee and questionable at ude.
I could care less about LA scoring big....I hate when they do a young brotha like that...the Hornets did rape the rockets in that deal

Except NO only got one of them which makes 0 sense. They didn't even get the best one

They didn't need a trade to help them make the playoffs. They either need something to help them contend or rebuild. This does neither. This trade leaves them in the same spot as if CP3 just left via FA essentially.

Wow. It's an awful deal for NO and for a guy who complains about how the Suns go about business I figured you of all people would agree with that.
What's so awful about the deal? Hornets had no leverage. They weren't going to get better offers and they were going to lose CP3 for nothing.

    Ludicrous.

Maybe the worst post in the history of the internet.

If he walks, they get nothing....in this instance, they would have received four very good players and two draft picks.

Are you this big of a moron or do you just appear so on the internet?

Letting him go for nothing is probably better for their purposes.

They weren't making the playoffs with CP3 since David West was gone. This team was a fringe playoff team last season and without David West they would have easily missed the playoffs.

I don't see any ''very good'' players involved in this trade except Paul

Hornets would receive a bunch of over payed trash. Instead you let Paul walk and you have financial freedom

Drafting the next Paul > trading for boat load of crap

So don't take on a load of salary when it won't get you in the playoffs.

No its not. Its hard to rebuild with just draft choices. It doesn't work that way and its hard for small markets to sign quality FAs unless they overpay.

Exactly You don't just do trades for the of it. There were other offers that were much better that were unconditional of CP3 agreeing to sign w/ the tradee. Rondo+draft picks is a of a lot better for one.

Are you trying to win rings or just compete?

No ELITE players will ever sign to play in NO. So the only chance you have is through the draft

This is straight forward. Did the Magic get back to the NBA Finals by signing Grant Hill & Rashard Lewis OR drafting Dwight Howard. . .
