Wow. How absolute for such an enlightened open minded person.
I'm not sure scott hasn't been given more deference, in this forum, than he deserves.

So was anyone that watched Walter Cronkite and read Walter Duranty.

Which, by the way, was the point of the video. People do watch and think they are getting the truth and they then make decisions based on that "truth."

Lyndon Johnson knew the truth of the Tet Offensive; it was a undeniable United States military victory. Even the Communist enemy agreed. But, when Walter Cronkite declared the war unwinnable in the context of reporting on what was, by all accounts, a military victory, Johnson knew he had lost America because -- well, Cronkite was the most trusted man in America. What I didn't know at the time was, Walter Cronkite was an avowed One World Government supporter and spoke to groups, sympathetic to that cause, and spoke openly (to them) about the need for the United States people to face the fact they were going to have to give up some of their sovereignty.

Tell me, scott; would he have been the most trusted man in America if American had known that little fact?

And, Walter Duranty, well, he merely won a Pulitzer for hiding the atrocities of Stalin and deriding or mocking those, in his profession, who tried to tell the truth.

Tell me, scott; would the world have been different if Americans had known, earlier, about Stalin's millions of murders?

And, today's media is chocked full of current-day Cronkite and Duranty wannabes.

That was the point of the video.
Anyone who is going to get "that point" of the video, already knew that.

The "point" of the video that most of its viewers will get is "the media is a liberal propaganda machine!"

Bottom line: MSNBC is the same as FoxNews, just on the other side of the political spectrum, with CNN not quite as far to the left as MSNBC. 24-hour News isn't about news, it's about appealing to the herd, and you are an example of those who have fallen right in step.

Wow. How absolute for such an enlightened open minded person.
You think CNN, MSNBC and FoxNews are "fair and balanced"?

Keeping open the possibility that invisible pink elephants created the universe doesn't make a person open-minded, it makes them delusional.

    How you've fallen.

On what facts would you like to be challenged?

Is $240,000 more or less than $249,000? There, start with that one.

You mean how you think $240,000 is less than $159,000?

There is a reason you have a reputation for being intellectually dishonest.

Edit: for the sake of this thread, I'll move this to the Rick Perry retires thread.

That would make $100,000 less than $90,000.

Whether the Governor stayed in or left office when he became eligible to draw from his retirement account only affected the amount of the State's contribution and the ERS annuity -- both of which benefit from his decision to stay in office and accept a smaller annuity.

Okay, fair enough. I'm pretty much done there and, I do apologize for dragging it in here by reference.

So, did the reporter -- not a commentator or someone doing a piece for an opinion program -- demonstrate a clear liberal bias in her different reporting on when Obama was portrayed as a Nazi than when Bush was?

And, are you aware of any Fox reportor -- not a commentator or someone doing a piece for an opinion program -- demonstrating a similar conservative bias?

    There, opine.

Yes, CNN is full of a liberal bias. I've pretty well stated that.

There are countless of examples of FoxNews anchors demonstrating a conservative bias.

The producer of the video in your OP also demonstrated bias by only showing one side of bias.

So, back to what we already knew: they are all biased.

I'm not. As far as current events go, I admit to being rather uninformed.

I'll elaborate: the only things I watch that have anything to do with current events are The Daily Show and Colbert, and I watch them fully aware of their biases in addition to the fact they are comedy shows.

It's worse than that. Anyone with the audacity to run against established politicians have their entire life scrutinize, and people come out with lies for the publicity. We get the politicians we have because as a nation, we not only allow it, we thrive on seeing the larger than life people fall.

On what standard do you rely to judge the amount of bias introduced into your news consumption form Stewart and Colbert?

And, since you admit to being uninformed on current events - on what source do you make the assertion FoxNews is as biased to the right as just about every other television news source is to the left?
