dude calm down, we are on the same side REMEMBER, his stats arnt a lie either check them at espn. Brown was playing great before he got hurt, better than barry as i remember it and neither brown nor barry was the reason we lost. I mean you saw the game right? they all sucked ass.

Yeah but the point I am making is...for an energy guy who is supposed to bring so much to the team with his hustle...

Devin Brown never changes the momentum of the game and the other guy never feed off of it...it's like he plays in a va e. And this is in the regular season too...

I wanted to start the guy because I felt like he could have more of an impact as a starter and the team would be used to playing with him...but that never happened...and it's just basically him running around out there like a big puppy dog with no pressure.

But now he's definitely got a bad back and I know every loves how he plays with heart in 30 point losses...but I don't think it's a good investment at this stage.

And I don't think you around with the chemistry of this team this late in the playoffs...

But go ahead and do it...it didn't change last year. Maybe it will this year.

    Are you refering to me???

No...I am referring to the guy whose solution to our TO and scoring problems is to have everyone keep driving into packed paint and trying to score on the 6 Pistons in there.

    He knows who he is.

I agree with you 100%...that's what I love about him too...

What I don't love about him is that his best games always seem to be our worst losses...I can't pretend the connection isn't there.

And I don't see the other guys playing better because of his big games...it's almost like they just sit around and go...whatever.

Maybe it's because we need someone who is going to get them back into the game and not play on an island.

I'll give you the chemistry you're right about that, and he's got a real ing sweet shot from beyond the arc and i would hate to give that up but we've got to open up the middle to get those shots for him. I think the pistons guards are little to quick for barry. Devin can move just a little better in my opinion and can make those mid range jumpers we need someone to start making (or at least he did before his injury)

    Wanna know why?

Pop never plays Brown anymore. Pop ONLY plays Brown when we are being killed and Manu and TP are having a bad night.

That pretty much explains why his best games are during bad losses.

Alvarez...we were down by only 6 points when Pop played the Devin card and decided to give him Barry's minutes...look at the final score....it's our worst loss of the playoffs...

Even if it is just a rust thing...exactly how many more losses do you want to sit through to knock the rust off.

We were down by 6 when Devin came in... and we made up to 2-0 in the NBA finals without Pop giving Devin big minutes...including blowing this team out in games 1 and 2.

If duncan is scoring down low then Barry should play cause he gets open looks when duncan is scoring, but if we are stagnant on offense, Brown is more of playmaker type of player and is a little more athletic.

In games 1 and 2 Manu tore them apart, that's why he didn't play.

    Same reason as before...

spurs were down big when devin came in and he certainly didnt contribute to them getting down like that. pop goes to devin when he sees es like barry quitting.

No...it's a second...it's a carbon copy of what happened last season against LA when Pop started going with Devin...

Devin tore it ing up too...he shot about 80% from 3 for the rest of that series....but we ing lost 4 in a row doing that.

I am not blaming Devin but damn...you can't ignore the results....it's like he plays outside of the team or something.

Maybe it pisses the others guys off or something that they got us to this point and all of a sudden Pop acts like Devin is the only guy that deserves PT...I don't know what it is but the trend is there...and it's there in the regular season too...Good times for Devin = Bad Time for the Spurs.

I personally think he would do well as the starter...but with that back how much can you invest? How much can you trust it?

Ditto with being the main guy off the bench?

It's sad but that's the reality and I don't see that this crowd is big on cutting these guys slack, looking at the 6 million Duncan is a pussy threads all over the forum.

Whottt, Pop only plays Devin when Manu is sucking, and Barry isn't doing much either.

Put everything aside, what we need is the big 3 having a good overall game. If Manu, Tony, and Duncan play well, then our whole team tends to play off of them, they set the tone for us. Is they're playing well, more attention is drawn to them, leaving Horry and Bruce to knock down clutch 3's all night long.

    That's it.

I don't care...I just want to win. I dislike investing an entire season with a team and having it end in a huge choke job...

IF you guys honestly believe Devin is the solution then by all means play him...

Whatever you think will fix it... Barry...there...you happy? I said it...

Now let's see if Devin makes a difference...he never has yet. I hope you guys are right.

No...I've already seen your definition of "big" is a 6 point deficit..don't even try to put that over...Devin got big minutes in all but one of those Laker Losses. Big minutes....and he put up ing poitns too...but it made absolutely no difference and the team as a whole played worse. They were the worst losses of the playoffs.

oh please. devin is put in those situations when the spurs are down by more than 15 points.

its es like your boy barry who create that deficit and now you are blaming devin for it. thats ing classic

The Spurs were not down by 15 points when Devin came into the game Marcus...and Barry wasn't here last season. The same thing happened then...

It's impossible to ignore Good Times for Devin = Bad Times for the Spurs...

So that's why a guy like me that would normally cream over a mofo shooting 80% from 3 can't shake that losing feeling....

I don't care what Pop does or who he gives the minutes too...just win the ing le by winning 2 out of the next 3. Is that too much to ask?

Whottt, stop putting it on Devin.

You're almost saying it's his fault for Pop deciding to let him play when all of our stars are sucking, and the game is basicallly over in the 3rd quarter. It's not Devin's fault, he tries to get the team back up, but sadly, no one helps him.

Whottt is !@#$ing liar. The Spurs were down 14 and on the same play Devin came in, McDyess had a three-point play to put them down 17. Whottt knows this but he's so in love with Brent Barry he'll make up crap to make Barry look better.

Barry came in and quickly got a bad foul, then missed a shot and then got scared and bobbled the ball away. He was playing nervous again so Pop yanked him.

But don't worry Brent, Whottt will lie to protect you.
