prior to going down with the back injury devin brown's season was shaping up to be a solid one, one worthy of a significant 2 or 3 year deal. now that injury is going to cost him some $, i'm afraid.

but the spurs cannot afford to lose him. again and again he shows up in the playoffs when others assume the barry position. the spurs need guys who will bust their ass when its winning time. this is why malik rose has always been one of my favorite players. technical proficiency. you want guys who will compete and who want to win.

spurs better not lose him. if they do i'll lose it.

spurs need to trade barry for an expiring contract
he is useless as a backup point guard
he was brought for that and his shooting
when beno was stuggling barry struggled to

you have already lost it! (wink)

I agree with you that he's a nice player and deserves a payday. No doubt. But you also have to think that other teams would be more than happy to let him get his and shut down the other guys. As the Lakers did last year, the Pistons are doing the same this year, which is focus in on Duncan, Ginobili and Parker and accept giving up some points to Devin Brown. He's a nice player, though, and I hope the Spurs can retain his services as long as his back is worth risking the guaranteed money.

the point is that the spurs need more guys like him and fewer barrys.

you cannot discount brown's compe iveness as being the product of defensive strategy and what not.

Wake me when the ing Devin show produces something other than our worst loss of the playoffs...same exact thing as last year.

Also...it's game 4 of the NBA finals and Devin has done exactly squat to get us to this point ...it also might be good to have a guy who doesn't miss the first round of the playoffs every year due to a bad back.

He got Barry's minutes last night...it was our worst loss of the playoffs. Figure it out.

hopefully next time pop leaves barry on the ing bench.

You are a dumbass if you think that...Barry's bad stretch we were down by 6 ing points and he got yanked...look at the final score.

Actually we were down by 4 and his contribution to the loss was us being down by 6 when he got yanked.

    Again...look at the final score.

Okay people let's be real about this.

Devin is an average player with a big heart. This is a business and right now Devin has NOT shown me that he can be worthy of a big pay day.

This is about business folks....not playing "hometown" homer because the guy went to West Campus and UTSA.

If the Spurs lose him so what? If it happens I guarantee you that Pop will bring in someone like Jim Jackson or some other veteran who isn't going to cost us major cap money down the road.

I see...and in your brilliance you have isolated the cause of last nights loss as a 2 point swing in the first quarter that left us down by 6 instead of 4.

    you Marcus.

I know I've always said to myself...in the middle of a turnover fest...let's bring Devin in...he never turns it over.

dude, barry is averaging 2 turnovers 3 rebounds a game, all though he is shooting 33% from three point land, he is good for at least 2 turnovers a game, and right now with that being are biggest problem, Brown should get his minutes. He had them before he got injured so why not now?

    That's a flat out lie...he's had one game with 2 TO's...

Devin is more turnover prone than Barry is.

Brown should get his minutes. He had them before he got injured so why not now?
Because Devin done exactly to get us to the finals...and last night got Barry's minutes and it was 30 point loss.

And it was the same ing thing in the Lakers series last year...

His best game was a 24 point loss to the ing Lakers...

We did not win a game after Devin started getting big minutes in that series.

    Go ahead...

I want to see the Spurs win as much as the next guy...

I hope Pop pulls the trigger on it...and gives Brown Barry's minutes, like he did last night, if you guys really think that is the reason we lost.

Then I hope we use our whole MLE to sign a guy with a chronic back condition that has caused him to miss the first round of the playoffs 2 years in a row...

Because hey...Devin is from San Antonio and that's really all that matters...

whottt you are flatlining. all you can point to is that barry wasnt worth in the 1st quarter. anyone who actually can watch a game without barrys nuts on their chin knows the truth.

This summer, get rid of Beno and Barry, keep Brown. Sign Scola, and a back up PG.

Barry sucked...but he wasn't the reason we lost the game...

Meanwhile...as Spurminator pointed out...I am still waiting for the game where Devin Brown desperation minutes actually result in a won game...regular season or playoffs.

When Tim has a terrible night, we need another big guy that we can rely on, and Horry's 3 point-shooting isn't enough. We don't have any other big guy to pose a threat when Duncan is not playing well.

Last night, it would have been great to have Scola, or any other PF that knows how to score.

DBrown was the heart of the team last night. And he was the only one keeping his head up till the end. He is worth a lot.

yes, pop should go to devin early on instead of allowing barry to help things and give brown an entry into the game when they are down big.

keep trying to spin that otherwise, whottt. everyone else here knows how pathetic your arguments are.
