NBA Playoffs 2005, Tuesday, 21 June, Game6, SBC, San Antonio, Texas:
"The Larry O'Brian Trophy Will Be In The Building"
The Spurs, with credit to Pop between Games4 and 5, have re-discovered their heart and their fight. The Spurs will not allow a Game7.
True. True.![]()
I doubt the Pistons will win 1, never mind 2 in SA.
But I've never thought the Pistons would win the series and I never thought they would win on our home court. So ofcourse I"m thinking "it's over".
If I was a Piston's fan I'd be saying: "It ain't over"
But as a Spurs fan I'm saying: "it's over"... which is consistant.
The series is not over yet. The Spurs still need to come out and play hard and continue to play with heart.
I love the fact that Spurs stole one in Detroit but I haven't forgotten they got blown out in the first two and squeaked by in the third in OT with a "Fathers Day Miracle" peformance by Big Shot Rob...
This Pistons team is damn good and far from dead...It's an elimination game against a talented well coached team with a huge amount of heart...anyone that thinks home court guarantees another blowout is ing delusional...
The Pistons are not dead but they are wounded.
Props to the Pistons. The one bad thing about Game 5 is that one of the teams had to lose. Both teams gave a gritty, gutty performance.
Up until a few years ago this was called "acute Spursitis".![]()
WDB...I'll give you credit....you got some serious gonads to come into the hottest spurs board and talk shyt. My hat, err derby, err hard hat is off to ya to come in here and deal with these jokers.
Now with that said, you know this is over this week right....Pistons are not winning two games in San Antonio...the choke status is officially removed off of this team after they took your heart, stole your daddy's oldsmobile and blew up the Ford building in that that overtime win.
By the way, has anyone seen Tayshaun Prince???? His psyche is looking for him this morning.
Everybody get to fish after this series. not like the winner have more games to play.
Right now, games 1,2,3,4 and 5 means nothing. The Spurs got blown out in 3 and 4 at the Palace, but win game 5. So why can't the Pistons win Game 6 after getting blown out in 1 and 2? The Pistons play much better at these situations, and the Spurs are not exactly known to step on their opponents' throats when they have them down. The series can very possibly go to 7 games, but of course, I want this thing to end at 6, I really need my sleep.
I'd say Shot in the Heart Wounded....
No little scratch.
"It's the Final Countdown"![]()
It's Over!!!!
Spurs In Six!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Put me in the corner of you have to win 4. Do the Spurs have the advantage? Yes. Do they play better at SBC? Absolutely. It has been a long time since Pistons won at SBC ----- with that being said: Spurs must keep their focus. Spurs must look to win using home crowd to make them play better and get refs' calls, not by counting on Pistons coming in dejected and uninspired. Remember just like Horry excels at these moments, so do the Pistons. They love to come back when their backs are against the wall.
I like you WDB. You're pretty cool.
Last night was horrible and tense - I need my sleep! I do expect a different Pistons team - one that doesn't want it to end. Here's hoping the Spurs show up and end it - game seven is not an adventure I want or need. My therapist said to REMOVE stress from my life, damn it! Are the Spurs going to pay for my extended therapy if we lose (no I'm not in therapy because of the Spurs, the obsession is not that bad).
Anyhow. So far it's coming out just like I predicted (though Timmy is falling short of my projeccted 32 high score. . .), which is scary. If it continues, we win Tuesday.
I'm waiting for the Pistons - let's BRING IT ON!
"I do expect a different Pistons team"
And you should expect a different Spurs team, as well.
One that doesn't want an anything-can-happen Game7.
One that sees a ring only 48 minutes away.
Losing 2 @Auburn Hills was extremely distasteful, but the compensation will that winning the le @SBC will be SO DELICIOUS.
"It was a good game, both teams played hard."
For once in this damn series that pla ude is correct. Props to the Pistons fan that were willing to show up here Monday morning, and for that I'll give you team some deserved props. The Pistons really scared the out of me with that game, and I can see plenty of places for them to still improve for game six. The same could be said for the Spurs too, but the Pistons just wouldn't quit in game five and I don't expect them to do the same in this series. Game six should be a classic.
You have officially manned up...there won't be any need for you take any lumps.
pistons will never recover from the game 5 loss.
it will sting too much.
aside from the fact of course that the pistons havent won in SA for years.
The pistons have lost and recovered from games like that before. Detroit will win game 6 and SA's lack of game 7 experience will leave them short on thursday.
When has Detroit lost a Game 5 in the Finals like that and gone on to win 2 in a row on the road?
Piston Fan is smoking some strong rock today.
They don't have Game 7 experience because they know how to close out series in 6 games or less. The pistons have lost and recovered from games like that before. Detroit will win game 6 and SA's lack of game 7 experience will leave them short on thursday.
