How's the fishing in Detroit this time of the year?
I'm spending time in Spurs chat because as a Pistons fan, I feel like I need to take my lumps, and get this whole thing out of my system before Game 6.
Piston fans, it's goign to get ugly from here on out. In the media, and especially on these boards. You can't give up yet.
The Pistons and the Spurs traded blows the first four rounds, and in round five, we got punched right in the eye.
But you have to win four.
So what if the Pistons haven't won since 1843 in San Antonio.
So what if we got blown out in Games 1 and 2?
So what if they took our hearts out from our chests in Game 5?
You're the defending champs. Time to prove it.
Yes, I'm expecting the trash talk from Spurs fans. The "PISTONS SUCK!" and the "I TOLD YOU WE'D WIN!" and "F-YOU TROLLS!".
I'm taking my lumps. You want to tear me and my team? I've created the thread to do it.
When Game 6 comes, my team will be ready. This season isn't over yet. If you think it is, then you haven't been watching the Pistons this year.
How's the fishing in Detroit this time of the year?
Good point WDB....personally...I am momentarily relived but the nervousness will return soon enough.
IT'S OVER
You know it, we know it, the Spurs know it, the Pistons know it.
Pistons haven't won in SA in 100 years, and they won't win 2 games @SBC this week.
NO IN WAY
Of course we will. We love the challenge. I'm not actually too concerned yet. Still feeling pretty confident in our guys ability to get it done.
WAY TO MAN UP![]()
SPURS IN SIX![]()
OH YEAH PISTONS SUCK
I TOLD YOU WE'D WIN
F-OFF TROLLS
THAT SHOULD COVER IT![]()
![]()
It s with your mind when you lose a game like that. Us Spurs fans know better than anyone else. Spurs will win in 6.
Enjoy it. You've got two days until proving grounds.
Fishing in Detroit ain't all that great, but once you get out of the city, we've got a few nice fishin' holes around the metro area. C'mon out, and we'll all have beers.
The whole 'going fishing' thing doesn't really work in this series though, because even if the Pistons lose game 6, isn't the season over for BOTH teams?![]()
Hold onto your hat, fellas. I'm thinking this thread's going to get kind of wily. Then again, I did ask for it.
I'll take 2 lumps of sugar in my Pistons mug, thank you.
WayDowntownGang, I said much the last things last year when Spurs lost game 5. Didn't work out that way. The loss seemed to take too much out of SA. Detroit is in a slightly worse position because both games are in SA.
Having said that, if Detroit does win game 6, then it is a tossup again. SA hasn't had a game 7 in a long, long time. And I think Detroit is a lot tougher than SA.
Calling me WayDowntownGang, I don't know if that's a typo or a rip, but it was actually kind of funny.
Detroit may NOT win Game 6, and the trophy may very well go to a team that completely deserves it. The Spurs are an amazing, amazing team, whether they win the series in 6, 7, or lose in 7. Whoever holds the trophy up this year is going to be the undisputed, deserving champion. Anyone who denies that is lying to themselves.
But as a Piston fan, I have to hold onto whatever I have.
All I have left is getting to Game 7.
no question its not over. but this was the test your balls game. i've never seen anyone recover from a performance like the one horry dropped on detroit... and he's gonna be pretty hyped for game 6... and he just gave everyone else a shot of "lets do this thang" and when you take that into account...
I agree it's not over but I'm so happy this is coming back to texas.
No more pistons crazy crowds , no more pistons basketbbbaall, I want to see how they survive at the SBC center.
Look man, I'm not disrespecting you guys with my gloat thread. That was aimed at the people calling Tim Duncan out and saying this Spurs team was soft. I knew this team was too good to get humiliated a third time in Detroit. This team has shown too much this season to go out like everyone was saying they would.
No.. Champions of any pro sport are not subject to "gone fishing" dude...![]()
Oops, typo! I'm like TD. No sense of humor!
I'm thinking that you're going to see a different Pistons team at SBC on Tuesday than you did in Game 1 and 2. Pop and Larry have each other figured out, and now it's a matter of who makes the better adjustments. I have a feeling from here on out, you won't be seeing any blowouts... and least I hope not. Pop did a great job of keeping his team in the game late with the Pistons up by 4.
If the Spurs can pull away early though, it doesn't look good for my boys. I'm calling Pistons by 8 on Tuesday. Why? Don't know.. but I'm a Piston fan. We need this one.
Nah, not taken like a gloat thread. You guys won, you deserve to be happy about it. There's a lot of "HA HA ! YOU I TOLD YOU WE'D WIN!" threads made by people that you know are just rubbing it in. That's ok, too. If there was no rubbing it in, Sports wouldn't be as much fun.
Passion.
Both teams fan's have it. Without passion, it just wouldn't be the same.
There's a difference between mature passion and immature passion though, and that's where some fill in. You're OK in my book. I can't wait to stay and chat once the season is over. Hopefully that will be Thursday night.
LOL, np. Just caught my eye (yes, I'm spamming my own thread.. doh!)
great game by both teams but the spurs still need to focus on closing out the seris. the pistons are still the champs until we win 4 games. go spurs go
you guys should blame it on kid rock...
No way is it over. Spurs still need to win one more. Still, I like our chances: need one of two at home.
And it looks like Robert Horry is on a Mission from God or something!!!
Props to all you Piston fans. You've showed great class, better class than I would have had we lost this game. I think the Spurs needed this one bad.
Absolutely this series is not over. History means nothing because records are meant to be broken. This will be a hardened Pistons team, much different than games 1/2. I expect it to be another close game but Duncan and Manu will not let a game 7 happen.
And also major props to most of you Pistons fans. Very classy indeed.
Well, I thought I'd sleep on it and feel better.
I was wrong.
Does anyone else do this? Your team loses a huge game, you feel sick to your stomach. You don't want to, but you can't help but watch the replays on ESPN over and over and over again. It's like personal torture.
Side note: It is kind of funny to see the tone of a messageboard change overnight. Try to keep the boat stable while all the people who jumped off are trying to climb back on. Props to you fans who stayed true the entire time.
I wish Game 6 was tonight, the wait is killer, probably for both teams.
Let's do this.
Also, make sure you stick around after the season regardless of the outcome. Always good to have other teams legitimate fans on the forum.
