I agree with DPG here as I stated in the game blog. Not competing and getting outplayed/outhustled/outcoached deserves some worry.

They had defeat on their faces. That's a maturity thing.

Tonight the Spurs seemed to realize early they were out of sorts. I don't know what happened exactly, but it is what it is. On to the next game. Gotta give credit to the Thunder though, they were a juggernaut tonight.
Pop didn't play Tim or Tony in the fourth. He gave up pretty early. I personally think he wanted a loss.

It wasn't a bad game; it was a horrific one in which they did not compete.

OKC has taken massive shots and kept fighting. Spurs folded. That's an issue. Whether they bounce back isn't the point; for tonight that's a major issue.
So if they bounce back and win the next two games are they are still heartless?

DPG you must have been dying for a loss so you could revert to old form.

Of course this series looks worse, CBF. The Thunder are far better than the the previous two opponents.
So then you understand why the previous record means jack, and why im worried over a top to bottom horrible performance

Its mostly because of the way we lost that could bring some insecurities TBH.
Eh, we were destroyed by the Lakers this year and came back and gave 'em their worst home loss in five years. This squad isn't a group of quitters like the Spurs teams of the past few years(Bonner is but we've all come to expect that from him). Spurs win in five or six.

In any event, the point of this thread wasn't to say the loss was good. Obviously the loss is bad. Its not the end of the world by any means.

The point of this thread was to talk about the stupid many fans were saying in the game blog talking about the Spurs being gutless and heartless etc etc. The kind of you always see from some posters in here after any loss.

I agree, he wanted a loss but I personally think that's bull crap

That's why I keep saying Pop deserves worst of any spur

Not losing until Game 3 of the Western Conference playoffs isn't a fluke. The Spurs know the deal, and they knew the Thunder would respond. Game 4 will be more telling. It'll be tough against OKC. But the Spurs know that. It's fans that put too much stock into games 1 and 2, not the team.

They've been through this before. They know they have a tough battle on Saturday night. I believe they'll be fully prepared and come out on top.

All we can do until then is wait.

No. The Spurs had one bad game. That doesn't mean that they're not the team that just put 20 in a row up has been destroying teams.

No. They kept draining 3's to cut the lead to 3.

As bad as the Spurs were playing I doubt you were gong to get a win. Its like I was saying in the Scott Brooks thread the other night. Why play those guys in the fourth when you're more than likely not going to win?

I think Pop was terrible tonight, but not playing Tim and Tony in the fourth isn't the reason why.

Oh so it wasn't folding when they gave up a 9 point lead going into the fourth. Ok.

How do you think the margin of victory in this game will affect the Spurs going forward?
I don't know what's funnier: Manny missing the point while claiming others are or trying to compare how OKC has competed in games 1 & 2 to the Spurs tonight .

Look, you don't have to start defensive threads and be intellectually dishonest because the Spurs played awful. It doesn't mean they suck it simply means they played horrific tonight.

You're still ignore half the questions I asked you. If you want to put on a show for people go ahead, but the questions are there if you want to actually answer them.

Not playing the guys in the fourth was the right move. The point is the guys didn't even show up at all. Okc was down 2-0 but they had their chances to win both games. Not only that, they did it with tremendous resolve. You can rest ok knowing you can take a punch and keep moving forward. Tonight the Spurs were a one hitter quitter.

I agree, by the fourth I wanted them to sit
im mad at Pop for his entire 2nd quarter management
We were in perfect spurs position tonight start the first

Then Pop went bench, Pop had neal ball handling with many on the court, Pop went Duncan 4 down hybrid bench lineup we haven't seen in ages, Pop goes Anderson

    All in the second quarter

Pop was arguably the first spark to cause the spurs total meltdown

He went to the normal bench to start the 2nd and they laid a complete egg. He left Bonner in way too long and played him way too much. I wish I could say I have faith that he won't do that again, but I don't. I just don't think its going to be THAT big of an issue going forward.

Leading after a quarter does not = showing up in the playoffs especially when you saw what transpired afterwards.

Are the goalposts heavy when you move them?
