Im sorry as a hoop fan I am dissapointed that he had this happen before he even hit his prime. I guess we will see if he is able to get much of his game back like CP3 did last year. I always thought it was unrealistic to expect him back before April.I know medical science has improved but an ACL takes at least one year to heal and probably another year to gain confidence in it. Bulls aint winning (odds were not great anyway) for two seasons and maybe by then, maybe the window will be shut.

I thought ACL tears aren't that seriously long term debilitating anymore?
In fact I remember in an injury thread someone saying that they can actually repair ligaments to be stronger after surgery.

    Was that all BS?

Adrian Peterson tore his ACL and they're saying he's been smoking fools in early spring practices.

I hope rose regains form, he's really fun to watch.

CP3 is NOT 100% compared to where he was back in 2008-2009 and he's much more skilled and less athletic based. Rose will be lucky to even reach the 75% mark in a recovery.
I agree even in these Olympics he doesnt look 100%

pre-injury rose was just the eastern version of wesbrick plus maybe some more brain cells. hope he develops a billups style of game with athleticism lost but doubt he has such mentality & intelligence to play it the way billups does, best wishes for him though

It's really not. I tore my ACL, Meniscus, and PCL in January and I'm already recovering now. I don't understand what all the ing is about tbh. I'll tell you straight up, the worst part about tearing your acl is all the bull you have to hear. like "Oh you tore your ACL, oh that's the end of your basketball career". And the stares you get when you first have your surgery, people will look at you like a cripple. And tbh I was a cripple when it happened to me just a few months ago. Now, I play basketball almost every day. Obviously I'm nowhere near being able to play actual games yet, but I go shoot and work on my ballhandling for hours on end. My knee actually feels great after. When ppl see me shooting they want me to play, and I tell them Im recovering from a torn acl. They don't believe me until I show them the scar on my knee. And my running is getting better and better. I know I'll be back, and my doctor told me they expect my knee will be stronger than it was originally if I keep rehabbing.

So your telling me if a regular guy like me can tear his ACL, PCL and Meniscus and already can be on the comeback, but a guy who is going to have top notch trainers can't? GTFOH. I support Rose and all the other athletes who have torn their ACL. I hope Rose comes back and makes you all look stupid.

lol comparing yourself to a professional athlete playing at an extremely high level

for the average guy hooping at the local gym, it may not affect his game too much. for an nba player, they never return to pre-injury form. while still really good, cp3 isn't the same player he was. amare is far from the guy who pwned the out of duncan for 37ppg that series. jason kidd wasn't quite the same afterward. you ain't an nba player brah lmao.
That was exactly my point. An NBA player is going to have a variety of options. He's going to have access to better rehab, better trainers and overall a better set of personnel to help him recover. And I'm pretty sure Jason Kidd and Amare didn't tear their ACL's. And even if they had (Which they didn't) those are probably aren't the guys you want to use to defend your point. Jason Kidd had his Micro-fracture surgery in 2004 and 8 years later he's still playing basketball at a considerably high level (Especially for his age). Amare is still one of the best finishers in the league and his overall game has developed since his Micro-Fracture surgery. Re-Think your argument and then come back.

Neither one was anywhere near the same after the surgury, despite still being effective.

Look at what happened to Redd. Baron Davis never reached his true potential after tearing his in college. Penny Hardaway. Stop acting like the isn't a serious issue, you look dumb.

You tearing your ACL and recovering to play gym ball is irrelevant to the discussion.
How did I act like it wasn't a serious issue? I've actually gone through the injury and I'm still going through it now so I know what I'm talking about. Michael Redd tore his ACL twice so that's obviously much different from tearing it once. You can say Davis never reached his true potential and I won't disagree with you. However, in his prime he was a great player and still very explosive. Again, I don't know if these are people you should be using to defend your argument. And Penny Hardaway is a person who had a series of chronic Knee problems and he also didn't recover properly after surgery. Most likely, because he came back too quickly after surgery.

think such an injury makes just as much impact on your mind as it does on your body, if not more. you ain't gonna exert yourself that hard after the injury. Vince Carter may still slam a dunk once in a while, but he ain't doing it for fun everyday like he used to do. rose may as well develop a different style of game which enables him continue to dominate in a more sustainable way, using his brain more and monkeyball less
