I certainly would be happy to see V go, but I'm pretty sure he'll get one more year to prove himself. They sent out the headaches/headcases, so he's got no excuse next year.
Is the least that got can do for Boston after giving them absolutely nothing but headaches.
Now Valentine needs to hit the road also.
A manager that changes the lineup every day doesn't know what the he's doing.

I was surprised he didn't take the opportunity to give Boston another headache
This is a great deal imo. Lets say the Red Sox were a fire sale team and looking to trade A-Gon, A-Gon for De La Rosa and Webster straight up would have been the type of deal you'd expect, but they managed to throw Crawford and Beckett in too. Dice- 's contract comes off the books too once the season is over.
They shouldn't be in any hurry to spend money. There isn't gonna be a quick fix to rebuild. If Ortiz wants a trade to a contender he should get it.
Yeah I dont think Ortiz even wants to be back in Boston at this point.
They just dont seem to want to give him more than 1 year deal. He deserves more.
Sadly this is a business. Wherever he's going I hope he ends up on a stack team.
I think I heard that LA claimed both Beckett and Gonzales off waivers, leading to the negotiation of this deal. If he made it collapse, Boston may have just let the waiver claim go through, and maybe he knew that.
3 run HR in his first at bat for Gonzalez. We staaaacked
Colorado 10, LA Dodgers 0 nice piching becket
How many innnings did it take for him to give 3+ runs and how long did this piece of last?
first batter he gave a homerun
Of all people Dice- actually pitched well for Boston today![]()

Red sox looking like the winners more and more.
lol getting owned by zito
You can't just buy and buy... They need to focus on pitching with every cent they spend going forward. I hope they overpay and steal away some overrated pitchers out of desperation, losing early rounds picks as compensation to further cement their short-term sacrifice failures.
Indeed. If the Orioles/Rays can somehow take the East then there could be a lot of big spending teams staying home.
phillies/dodgers/Angels/RedSox/Tigers/Mets
That's pretty much a list of the teams with the highest payrolls
kersaw needs hip surgery
chad needs tommy john surgery
how much are they going to through on starting fa pitchers?
