Honestly, Kawhi needs to learn how to get into Durant's head like Jack did last year. He already did a great job of making sure Durant has to work to get the ball. If he keeps developing, I could see him being the guy Durant least wants to go against. If Kawhi also gets an all-around offensive game, he could go a long way to limiting Durant's impact against the Spurs.

Woah, he's got a much higher ceiling than that. He can have a more productive career than Wallace, imo. Just got to get more comfortable with the ball in his hands.
That is true, that is true! And I agree. I guess you could say I'm tempering expectations to avoid disappointments. Though we can all agree, it's extremely welcome for Kawhi to surpass my expectations!

This is an 82 game season. I wouldn't get too high or low after 3 games.

I find it nice that he's already wildly outperforming all of our previous expectations the night we traded for him. Many of us felt he would be a solid defender for years in the NBA but I'm not sure that many of us knew just how promising he would look on the offensive end and how he he'd already be our starter. So he has ceratinly surpassed my first expecation of him, and I look for him to pass yours too

3-0 start, Manu back, already beat two of the 3 playoff teams we faced last summer, defense looks improved, Kawhi rounding into a nice player, not relying on the 3 ball, Duncan looks fresh, Bonner playing limited minutes...

This team looks poised to destroy the league on it's way to the regular season 3peat, and health-permitting, watch out!
Spurs look like they started hot, but if you take a closer look that 3-0 record comes from very iffy wins.

    - First game against NOH on the road with a team without their best player and a brand new rookie, the needed a fluke 3 pointer from Parker to sneak out with a W. Game was basically a tossup with 2 mins to go.

    - Second game against OKC at *home*, they again need a fluke 3 pointer from Parker, a miraculous steal from Leonard and another fluke shot by Parker to end up winning a game that with one minute to go looked like a sure loss.

    - Third game they come out swinging at home, they take a 17 point lead on the lowly Jazz then proceed to give up an astonishing 35 pts in the 3rd quarter and let the Jazz back in the game. They tighten up just enough in the 4th to rescue a win.

It's inevitable that luck will run out at some point, and things will get back to the mean, that's why this is probably one of the most misleading records in the NBA at the moment, tbh

spurs have kept almost the same squad of last season's while other teams all have made changes to different degrees, which might also help explain why the spurs have been performing so much better than their old rivals at the start of season imho
