How many miles can one man get out of leadership skills ?

Amazing in its desperation... A babysitter in the locker room.

Fisher does not worry me at all - ...why not?

Because the Spurs have a hall of fame genius coach and he would never screw the Spurs by putting someone like a Gary Neal to guard Fisher in a crucial playoff game...in the crucial moments of a crucial game...

    ah ...
And the worst part is, we know he's amenable to making the same mistake, as Stephen Curry demonstrated not too long ago.

    Posted this in another forum:

This effing roach cherry picking his way onto championship caliber teams using his daughter as an excuse.

He gets the Artest treatment on defense in the 4th qtr. He can push, pull, grab, hold, shove the screener fighting through picks, push people in the back on rebounds and doesn't get called for sh**!

So sick of this dude already.

Fisher. Maybe if we didn't leave his ass wide open he wouldn't have hit half his shots against the Spurs. Keep a body on him, always. Solved.

He definitely improves their chances and we know why because he's

    1. Derek Fisher
    2. He can keep Westbrook in check.

Just don't have Tiago be scared to score on him and don't have Neal guard him.

There's no point in contending if you don't have LeBron or Durant, Stern wants to turn them into his new Magic/Bird to go full circle once he retires.
The Bad Boy Pistons still snuck a couple rings in at the end of that era, tbh....

For a team that boasts knuckleheads like Westbrick and Perkins, a steady veteran leader can actually help.

He would be useless on the Spurs, but he's a decent pickup for the Thunder. The only good thing is that the Spurs are much better this year about chasing players off the three-point line, so maybe they can actually limit his on-court production this year!

As long as Gary doesn't guard him, Fisher is non-issue.

I want to see Kawhi dunking on his ugly face Brewer-style.

In a statement he issued Saturday night to confirm the move, Fisher said: "In Tuesday's game against Philadelphia, I suffered an injury to my patellar tendon. The recovery time will be approximately two weeks. With this news and the difficulty I have been having being away from my family, I have asked the organization to waive me so I can return home.

"(Mavericks owner) Mark Cuban has been extremely supportive and has granted me this request. I cannot say enough good things about this organization. From Mark, to Coach (Rick) Carlisle, to the players on the Mavericks' team, I sincerely thank them for the opportunity.

"I have made decisions in the past, leaving money and opportunity on the table, and I will need to do that again. My family is my priority and that is where I choose to be. I won't close the possibility that I will play again, however for now my family and being close to them remains the priority."

I didn't realize that OKC was so much closer than Dallas to Fisher's home and family.

How does Derek Fisher keep getting exactly what he wants? There is a great story to be written about him.

I really thought this was a typo, but Derek Fisher is about to sign with OKC. I thought the dude was homesick. #bandwagonman #pantsonfire

I suppose I harbor some resentment for Derek Fisher quitting on the Mavs, but also for using his family as an excuse to deflect criticism.
If you're going to blatantly quit on a team ... own it. Then move on.

OKC is well-renowned for their pediatric care/specialists so Fish is just doing what's best for his family.

Nevermind, I was thinking of meth and fried catfish. Derek's just a dirty, front-running POS that exploits his family like no other pro-athlete in recent history.

Never understood the appeal of a slow point guard that is a below-average to mediocre shooter, and averages less than 4 assists a game. Fisher's now 38 years old. I doubt he'd even be in the regular rotation with the Thunder.
When u are playing vs Neal D, no matter how bad you are, you will play well

Spurs fans have been claiming Fisher is washed up for a dozen years now. Let's hope it's actually true this time, tbh.............

In a way, Fisher is like the Spurs: Said to be old and dead for years, but still there when the playoffs start and ready to make some noise.

He wasnt when he was burying threes in the 4th quarter of game 6 last year.

the people who ripped me for wanting him to backup Parker also told me he wasn't worth it last year...
