is now one of the better player not in the NBA.
I think that might be a little too much to say about him, he was ACB's MVP a couple of seasons ago (Herrmann, Nocioni, Scola the last 3 ACB's MVPs) but he has struggled a little in his last two seasons playing for a more important team in Unicaja Malaga and didnt contribute much.

He is huge, and instant offense kinda guy, very good rebounder also, very emotional and energetic but his defense is questionable.

Im as big Pepe Sanchez fan as anyone on this board, he was the man in Temple but he isnt a star player in Europe, he didnt contribute much either to Unicaja Malaga playoff run, and he wasn't even starting (I believe, not sure though), neither was Herrmann.

It'd be nice if the Pistons really did let Delfino go. He'd be a good 3.

Walter was linked with the Bobcats this offseason, I don't know if the would fit well into the Spurs rotation, he needs many touches and his man-to-man defence needs some improvement.

Also, his family tragedy affected his game a lot. He went from league MVP to sixth man. Which is perfectly understandable, if that would happen to me I wouldn't even get up of bed again.

Why stop at Ginobili, Oberto and Scola? Here's another Argentine player who could make a splash in the NBA. He's a 6-foot-9 small forward with huge hands and a big leaper. He'd fit perfectly as the Spurs' long three.

He's around 26 year old and has dominated recently in Europe. There's been rumblings about him wanting to come to the NBA. I'm not sure of his contract status -- perhaps someone here can inform us.

As the Spurs look for someone to one day replace Bowen, a main attribute that player must have is toughness. Hermann is tough. This is a guy who's mom, sister and fiance were killed in a car accident not that long ago. On the one year anniversary of their death, Hermann's dad died. He's fought through all of that and is now one of the better player not in the NBA.

I think the Spurs should look at him. He's big and can fit the long three role they desperately need.

    Sign him up.

I'm going to have to give myself a kluby for this one.

    Mark in Austin remembers Legolas

    Hermann won't fit right now.

His defense is questionable and last year played crappy.
That's the whole point - bring in a SF to learn the tricks of the trade from Bowen. IMO, the timing couldn't be more right.

I'm with LJ on this one, plus the guy can throw it down like a bad mofo.

Pepe was injured during last season, but when he was ok he started.
He even had some pretty good games tho.

Ron Artest shouldn't even be playing in the NBA. He should never be a Spur. He doesn't have the right stuff.

    Hermann?

    Why not Martin Leiva too

    6´11" from Boca Juniors

In the FT sometimes, he hit the Ring, sometimes the Board, but not all the times

Well, you could always argue they beat a team of NBA All-stars coached by the two best coaches in the league--and you'd be right.

    Hmmmmm...maybe we're onto something here.

    Probably you are right:

Both Argentina and the Spurs are Teams, not All-Stars, in Argentina everyone plays for the Team and in SA too, in the "Dream Team" the only one Team player was Tim Duncan, but Iverson, Starbury and the others never plays like a Team

Duncan would protest and demand someone from St. Croix.

But I'm all for it. He has the Argentine flowing locks of power.
was the first thing I thought about

"the guy can throw it down like a bad mofo."

.. which exactly what to do with winning?
It can characterize an aggressive nature. His aggression can translate various ways. His aggressive nature, combined with his physical tools can help him body up his opponent better can be more mobile on defensive. I don't think anybody thinks it, but no one can argue that Bowen's aggression on defense isn't a key to what he does. His aggression on offense and his ability to take it to the rack and "throw it down" would also draw defenders when he comes into the lane and he can kick it out to the perimeter or dump it into one of our low post guys. That is what it has to do with winning.

If the Spurs are using their MLE this year, will they still have the ability to use it again next year? I thought it was an every other year kind of thing.
