Why stop at Ginobili, Oberto and Scola? Here's another Argentine player who could make a splash in the NBA. He's a 6-foot-9 small forward with huge hands and a big leaper. He'd fit perfectly as the Spurs' long three.

He's around 26 year old and has dominated recently in Europe. There's been rumblings about him wanting to come to the NBA. I'm not sure of his contract status -- perhaps someone here can inform us.

As the Spurs look for someone to one day replace Bowen, a main attribute that player must have is toughness. Hermann is tough. This is a guy who's mom, sister and fiance were killed in a car accident not that long ago. On the one year anniversary of their death, Hermann's dad died. He's fought through all of that and is now one of the better player not in the NBA.

I think the Spurs should look at him. He's big and can fit the long three role they desperately need.

    Sign him up.

Duncan would protest and demand someone from St. Croix.

But I'm all for it. He has the Argentine flowing locks of power.

He reminds me of Hercules...long blondish brown hair...muscular, tough...

This dude plays with heart, and is all over his man on defense.

I was all over signing Herrmann last summer and was nailed hard by you guys.

Again, he'd be a nice pick up.

Dude can flat out palm a ball and dunk that in your face.

Yes, I think it's a reasonable buyout, but TAU is after him. I read this the other day.

At this point, nothing would surprise me. Why not Pepe Sanchez as that veteran backup PG the Spurs apparently need?

I was actually going to start a "Free Agent: Pepe Sanchez" thread ... but I didn't want to appear crazy.

    P.S.

He'd work as the third PG.

    no.

But if you want pretty much the same jersey that Manu wore in Athens, go to www.eurojerseyimports.com'

    $79.99

I have the white one, but mine was much cheaper, got it from Argentina.

The Spurs might as well continue to capitalize on their international connections. For years the Spurs have had to put up with American-born players lifting up their noses at playing in San Antonio.

Now the Spurs don't need them...

    Hermann won't fit right now.

His defense is questionable and last year played crappy.
