Gary played 3 years for us and looked decent doing it. He played in the finals and looked OK. I expect he will get something in the $3 to $4 million range (per year), and I'm happy for him. No complaints about his time here (considering what he was paid), and I wish him best of luck in the future... but I'm not complaining that it's not SA giving him that $3 or $4 million per year.

I was fine with Neal's stint as a Spur, especially considering his salary, but he was one of the worst rotation players in the NBA during the 2nd half of the year, including playoffs, tbh..

No hate here but not going to say I'll miss him either.

He provided some clutch shots and had a decent run while here. But he wasn't going to improve and he was a defensive liability.

Wish him nothing but the best with his new team. Time to move on for both parties.

Felt similarly...although the plantar fasciitis and playing for a first decent contract in his life were mitigating factors (in his defense)...but he was borderline irrational confidence guy at times, especially once SJack was booted...

No way Gary gets a full MLE deal. No way. No need to bash Neal. He did so much more than many guys in his spot before him. He did way more good than bad and he came out of no where for most Spurs fans.

If this is the end of Gary Neal as a Spur, Ill just say thanks. He came out of nowhere and handled the load pretty damn well considering. He was a damn good shooter that wasnt afraid of the spotlight. He wasnt so hot on defense but so what? Top it off he was a good teammate and wasnt in any serious during his time here. If he's going, I hope he gets a big contract someplace in the East.

No one is talking about how it makes us better defensively, addition by subtraction. No longer seeing Gary Neal in noman's land and his man knocking down a 3 pointer.

Exactly guy was paid chump change, like 800k and was absolutely incredible for us.

Neal was very good for San Antonio. If nothing else, when the Spurs lost in the first round to Memphis in 2011, his shot saved the Spurs from being eliminated at home in 5 games to the #8 seed. That matters a lot .. no one wants to get eliminated at home. He helped the Spurs save face in front of the home crowd.

I think he'll have a bounce-back season next year since he's bound to be healthier than he was this year. I hope he doesn't go to a contending team, because he'll come back to haunt San Antonio with some clutch shooting.

No hate for Gary Neal here. As a Summer League stand-out that signed an absolutely tiny deal, we've gotten 3 very solid years out of him. I've got nothing but love for him. Hopefully he can go somewhere and make a little cash, cause he won't get it from SA. Best regards.
    This.

count me in the "will miss Neal but hope he gets paid better elsewhere" category. He did so much stupid , but he was fearless at scoring and had some great moments for us while getting paid very little. I appreciate what he was able to do for us and hope he gets a good paycheck.

Neal WAY outperformed his contract for sure. The guy can make a shot from anywhere on the court and has more "junk" in his game than any Spur outside Tim and Manu. His defense was horrid most of the time, but he gave the team a big lift off the bench and will be rewarded with his next deal.

    Good luck to him.

"NBA Finals hero"? Is that suppose to be in blue? BTW, I think Neal has value and did well with his skill set for the Spurs. Not ragging on him, but that sounded a bit like hyperbole.
Seriously, ya'll mother ers forget so easily.

2013 NBA Finals, Game 3. Yes, he was pretty ing important in that win.

I hope Neal is back with the Spurs. When he got hot, he was awesome. He's a better offensive player than Green but Green plays much better D. Way too much hate going on for Neal.
