So you're saying that no one on the team besides Steve smith could out up any offensive numbers?
When Cam Newton came into the system, yes. They haven't had a second receiver (for whatever reason) since Mushim Muhammad retired. DeAngelo and Jonathan have been on the decline, not to mention ever since we let go of Peppers our defense has been HORRIBLE (mostly due to injuries at linebacker).

This thread is about Cam Newton - not their defense. Which is the reason that Atlanta threw not one, but two Hail Mary's to beat them last year. Cam had nothing to do with it. So really, like always, you are not proving .

In one of those vaunted games against the Falcons, Cam threw for zero touchdowns and three picks

"But, but, it's the defense's fault! 33 points per game!"

as long as you acknowledge it. because the losing won't be going on longer. if we, for whatever reason, don't make the playoffs. we will win the division next year.

Yeah, and in the other he threw for 287 yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT's. He also ran 9 times for 116 yards and a score.

The other one he threw for 215 yards, 2 more TD's, and ran for 86 yards, a score, on nine carries.

    Nice nitpicking.

BTW, in that loss, how much did he rush for? JW.

Maybe its because the Panthers are 1-2 despite only allowing 12 points per game this year. Congrats on beating the worst team in the NFL outside of Jacksonville tbh

Why is Cam 1-2 when he has one of the best defenses in the league?

The same defense that blow a play with :02 left against the BILLS to allow a touchdown pass.

They're good this year, but they still blew it.

And Cam only scored 7 points at home in the first loss.

Look at last season. Carolina was 10th in the NFC in points allowed and 13th in points scored. Not great either way, but the defense outplayed the offense last season.

He's not a smart QB. He makes just enough mistakes to lose games that were winnable.

Cam Newton dominated in college because he was the most athletic player on the field. The NFL is a different animal though. Athleticism will get you some impressive Sportscenter highlights and inflated statistics in the NFL, but brains at the QB position is paramount. This is where Cam Newton is lacking. He doesn't know how to win close games. I've never seen a QB make so many poor decisions when it mattered the most. Cam Newton's ceiling is .500 football. He is smoke and mirrors. He will never win a championship.

They still had that elite team around them. Their defense has always been mediocre.
How is the team "elite" if half the team has always been mediocre?
