Excuse me if i do believe Oswald was the lone killer. Was he paid to? Maybe. I just don't buy the whole conspiracy aspect though.

Without a time machine to go back and witness the events with modern technology, we will never know for certain.

If you think Oswald acted alone then you don't know Oswald's history...the guy was a ghost...his whole history is filled with bizarre coincidences...

Regarding possible conspiracies, to this day I have serious doubts that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I certainly have doubts that he was motivated to do that by himself. I’m not sure if anybody else was involved. I don’t go down that road, with respect to the grassy knoll theory and all of that, but I have serious questions about whether they got to the bottom of Lee Harvey Oswald. I think he was inspired somewhere by something, but I can’t pin anything down on that. I’ve never spent a lot of time on it. But I think, after a certain period of time, and that period of time may well have passed, it is totally appropriate for a country like the United States to open up the files on whatever history can be shed light on. I think that is appropriate. It has to be done in the right way, by the right en ies or people, but certainly by a valid historian or for some valid analysis; I think that everybody would benefit.

I've studied the JFK assassination for years and years and have 30+ books on it in my book case. First, let's start with the catalyst that got Kennedy murdered. The Bay of Pigs disaster where Kennedy refused air cover for the Cuban exile invasion leaving a Communist power in force, Kennedy cutting a deal with the Soviet Union on the Cuban missiles and removing missiles in Turkey and agreeing not to attack Cuba, Kennedy signing National Security Agency Memorandum 263 in 1963 pulling out 1000 troops from Viet Nam, and Kennedy's secret back channel communications to Kruschev and Castro with peace overtures. My guess is that James Angelton of the CIA along with Alan Dulles were the architects of the basic plot which then extended down to the Miami CIA station using the anti-Castro Cubans in Miami along with help from the Mafia for financing, a possible shooter, and witness control. Angelton as the CIA's counter intel director had grown paranoid looking for the rumored Soviet mole within the CIA and ruined many CIA officers careers with baseless charges. I think when he found out about Kennedy's back channels communications with the Soviets and Castro, he thought he finally found his mole. This is pretty much the same thinking of the great James Douglas book, "The Unspeakable", one of the top ten books about the assassination.

There was no stand down from military intelligence. The operations officer from the group mentioned testified that members of that group were indeed in Dallas with additional help from a more local group.

JFK is a work of fiction. A fun movie but terrible history.

This. Kennedy had alot of enemies, even within his own cabinet. Lots of people wanted him dead, especially his crack down on the mafia when they helped get him elected.

I don't know about "great" -- I'll give him an incomplete. The Bay of Pigs was totally his fault, backed some coups that got people killed, and his ultimate actions on Vietnam and civil rights will never be known since they could only have happened in a second term.
