Manu is already on the Heat's Mt. Rushmore after last year, I say we give that last spot to Frenchie tbh.

forget WS... Gervin was the franchise player for over a decade. he deserves a spot
Apologies to Gervin. I thought I ran an all Spurs/Chaperrals sort. Instead, my numbers were NBA only.

    Reran with ABA numbers:
    1) Duncan
    2) Robinson
    3) Gervin
    4) Parker
    5) Ginobili

    19) Bonner
    29) Splitter
    34) Leonard
    49) Green
    61) Diaw
    75) Mills
    93) Belinelli
    114) Joseph
    138) Ayres
    182) Baynes
    289) Daye

After Ginobili's turncoat game 6 performance, it's hard to give him that 4th player spot. Parker definitely deserves the fourth spot. In fact, his accomplishments have quietly dwarfed Ginobili's. More all-stars, all-NBAs, and even a finals MVP. Parker even has a Eurobasket le and MVP to round out his resume.

Pop deserves to be on it more than TP or Manu. Lol, dwarfed.

Just put the Iceman's face on the NBA Statue of Liberty and a ball replacing the torch, as part of a finger roll.
    My favorite solution by far.

Gervin - Without Ice, San Antonio probably doesn't get included in the ABA / NBA merger. No Gervin, no Spurs.
Robinsoin - Without 5-0, the team either folds or moves. Even with David, there were some dicey years. No Robinson, no San Antonio Spurs.
Duncan - Without Timmy, no ring in '99, and no franchise cornerstone. Which very likely means no new arena in 2003 and the team moving / being sold. No Duncan, no San Antonio Spurs
Popovich - Without Pop, the culture of the team that played a big part of Duncan staying in San Antonio and building championship teams around him wouldn't be here. No Pop, no Duncan, no rings.

Other people might have major roles over the years on and off the court, but no four people have had a bigger impact on the Spurs in San Antonio than Gervin, Robinson, Duncan, Popovich. They should all have statues in front of the AT&T Center someday.

It's fine like that... biggest representatives of the Spurs' winningmost years...

When you start trying to please everyone you end up with Avery's jersey hanging from the rafters, tbh...

Tbh I could see putting Popovich on there, but Gervin has to be there. Of Parker and Manu, I would go with Parker. I haven't forgotten the good times where Manu came through for us and put us over the top, but I find it hard to forget all the recent disappointments where he's missed postseasons due to injury or either gone into the playoffs injured or gotten injured early in it to play at a fraction of what he usually does. Not to mention his notoriously bad game 6 last year, a game we would've probably won in a blowout if he just played an average basketball game.

Literally the exact order I value those 5 players in. But WS had nothing to do with it.

You can put Parker over Manu because you prefer it, but Manu won the olympics which is more important than an eurobasket le, and that MVP was a joke he was getting some attention because that Longoria marrying stuff (look on wikipedia if you dont remember that, section Coverage Controversies, Article NBA Finals 2007) so it was part of the NBA circus, what about all stars? some fat kids voting with their cellphones define which player is better because of his popularity? To dwarf Manu our buddy Tony needs to born again at least 3 more times, if Manu wanted to score like a pig he would drown Parker in a finger snap, Tony can´t even make 3s after 14 years.
I understand people blaming Manu for game 6 too (I still do sometimes) but where was Tony? same in 2003 and 2005, after that ¨glorious finals mvp¨ Parker ¨took the leadership¨ and did nothing but complain Spurs were not about winning championships anymore.

Parker shot 6-23 in game six last year. Anytime there was an important game on the line, Parker failed to show up. Blew it against the Lakers in 2004. Sucked against the Mavs in '06. People make a big deal about 0.4 or the Ray Allen three being really unlucky for the Spurs but the Heat or Lakers never would have been in striking distance if Parker wasn't so goddamn terrible in those games.

If it's a regular season Mount Rushmore? Sure, put Parker up there. Playoff Mount Rushmore? Doesn't deserve it. He's a mental midget when it comes to post-season bball.

Shooting 6-23 is far less offensive than 8 goddamn turnovers.

6-23 is 6 shots away from being respectable (12-23) which, for TP, translates to a net loss of 12 points.

With 8 turnovers you not only lose the chance to score the ball on your end (let's call it 8 points assuming you can live with a hypothetical 4-8 shooting from 2), but you also potentially feed Miami for easy fast break buckets. So it's 8 points + anything Miami scored easily from those turnovers.

How soon people forget that while Parker was busy ting the bed and getting replaced by the likes of Speedy Claxton, Emmanuel Ginobili was busy being the best closer in the game.

Well see how much Parker has in the tank when he's Manus age...
