Gervin needs to be on it, no question. imo it should be Gervin/Robinson/Duncan/Popovich
Stumbled upon this pic on the interwebs. With my screen name, I'm sure you can guess who I think needs to be added. But who would you take out if you can only have 4?![]()

Yeah I'm fine with this tbh.
Agree on the Duncan/Robinson/Gervin/Popovich, but if it has to be 4 players, it would be difficult to dispute Tony Parker's qualifications to take that 4th spot with 6 ASGs, 3 All-NBA selections, 3 rings and a Finals MVP -- and (despite the crap from some fans about playoff failures) a long history of coming up big in playoff games for more than a decade. He's 4th in points in franchise history and 1st in assists in regular season games and in the top 5 in most statistical categories in franchise history in playoff games.
Agreed.
TBH, you need another mountain. Spurs have more than 4 all-time greats, just like the U.S. does with presidents
Gervin being snubbed made me cringe. It's amazing how much unappreciated the old-school Spurs are.
Just put the Iceman's face on the NBA Statue of Liberty and a ball replacing the torch, as part of a finger roll.
My heart and my jerking knee had Gervin ahead of both Parker and Ginobili.
But WS as a Spur says otherwise.
1) Duncan
2) Robinson
3) Parker
4) Ginobili
5) Gervin
16) Bonner
25) Splitter
27) Leonard
40) Green
49) Diaw
62) Mills
77) Belinelli
94) Joseph
111) Ayres
145) Baynes
226) Daye
Pop should be there, so should Gershvin... so no Manu and MVParker![]()
Ginobili is the better player, Parker is the better Spur.
This, tbh.
You have that backwards for sure
Gervin's the man, but to be honest.. I think Ginobili could have been a much better leader for the 70's Spurs. Think about it, what if Manu was from the 70's? Imagine how much his athleticism, play-making, and shooting/clutch factor would have been worshiped. It would be like Erving and Pistol's love child.
Then again, I could see Gervin (replacing Manu) help the Spurs to a '05-'07 3peat. So it's really debatable overall.
Still; Gervin deserves a slot just for his impact alone. Without him, the Spurs would have discussed relocation a LONG time before 1990.
forget WS... Gervin was the franchise player for over a decade. he deserves a spot
Duncan, David, Ice and put Parker up there with a big nose and bald spot.
Ginobili is the better player. Parker has more pts, assts, accolades, games as a Spur.
If there only had to be four faces it would have to be
Tim/Dave/Ice/Pop or Tim/Dave/Manu/Parker
Having Parker but not Manu (or vice versa) wouldn't seem right because they own a great amount of success to each other and to Timmy.
If it has to be 4 players, the 3 automatic locks are Duncan, Robinson, and Gervin. It's the 4th sport that becomes tough to judge...
