Stan Van Gundy has remained friendly with Dwight Howard. Howard had his best years under him. Rockets hired his brother Jeff. I could see them hiring him.

I remember a time when them Mavs went to Houston down 0-2 and they were all calling for Avery's head after the season (and he just took over mid season). Had they hired someone like Phil Jackson who was available at that time during the offseason, they would've owed the mid 2000's tbh.

The Rockets should do the inevitable and get it over with before it's too late.
They actually came back and won the series.

I can't see SVG in Houston. The history between Howard and him is too real to ignore, friends or not.

I know they did, so don't lose hope just yet.

tbh they had a prime Dirk and Terry who went nuts after game 2. TMac and Ming had their best playoff series against those Mavs, now these Rockets pale in comparison tbh.

With meetings with Morey after games McHale has been telling Morey and those around him that Sampson was the one who preached the defense AT practices and also made adjustments DURING games. Lucas has been trying to take the place of Sampson on the sidelines, but it has not been the same.

Morey understands making a change toward the end of the season should cause some confusion, but not like this.

    Apparently Sampson kept Harden accountable.

Morey wants McHale to own up and is growing frustrated with the excuses.

If that is true, that does not excuse Harden quitting. It just certifies McHale has no testicles and is an idiot.

How is he a scapegoat if you can't make adjustments? And you're right. I just figured Dwight would be the one to quit, and it's the other way around.

Sampson did call out Harden alot, that's what you do with a young immature player. However, Harden's been a Rocket for two seasons now and never have I seen less effort in his time in HOU as these first two PO games. It seems as if he's playing to get McHale fired.

Unfortunately, 90+% of the time, it is the first to 2 wins (when it's 2-0).

Firing McHale would fix alot of the problem, but not all of it. Still somethin to look forward to.

Harden quit. Nobody can fix that except him. I don't think he's scared but juzy ing lazy which is worse than being scared. He does seem to have a me first at ude at this point, and McHale has no balls to do anything and bench him. A new coach can cut down on all the goddamn iso plays and make adjustments. In what universe should Jeremy Lin be trying to iso?

It's not even ESPN narratives like "he's scared/lazy/quitting," he's simply a regular-season-only player.... when playoff defenses take away his threes and flop calls, he is useless on both ends....
