The best Tes Leches cake is in Houston?

And the best meatballs are in New York?

And the best sushi is in Miami?

    And the...

    Ah, you get the point.

Not meaning to nitpick, but quite a bit of what you posted might be true. The quality of ingredients that US food purveyors like Sysco or Labatt's (or even specialty outfits like BesTex) provide is superior to what kitchens with equal or greater talent in some other countries can get. Unless of course they have a vegetable garden and a local butcher shop they order from twice daily.

I've worked in kitchens in Mexico and Canada, and was very surprised at the lower quality for much higher than US pricing we received from our suppliers. Especially the kitchen in suburban Toronto, who ordered from Sysco.

I think the places of origion usually have the best of whatever.

But I'll check out the place, and I'm sure I'll like it. I'm always down for good food. Next time I go to Htown with Jess, we'll go there.

Just got back from Houston. The dinner was great, but we had to save room for dessert since we were at Americas. My wife and I had the Tres leches cake and my son had a bread pudding which was good too.

Manny, you have to remember to go there next time you are in Houston, I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

College Station. It is about 1 1/2 hr drive. We went to look a new car for my wife, then went and had dinner.

I have not gone there to eat because I heard the same thing. Sorry you picked that place to eat. There are a lot of good places to eat besides that one.
