Damnit Jim, and I had it narrowed down to those two and now you do this to me!Now, I'm trying to calculate what my new monthly payment would be for either the Vette or the M.

PS do not get the M45, you do not need the 8 cylinder..all it does is eat more gas and the 280 HP in the V6 is more than enough for any human being, I promise you that.

Well, if you do not plan on having a need for ever taking a 3rd or 4th person with you, then the Vette is a nice car.
The Technology package in the M is freaking awesome. All you have to do is tell the car to do stuff with your voice command and it does it.
ie. You ask it where nearest restaurant is, and it lists all of them, then you say which one, and it tells you how to get there. I have the Navi in my car, but you have to enter it by hand. You can also tell it whick Sat channel to go to, or what radio channel to go to, etc. You can enter phone numbers in there and tell it to dial so and so. It has 4 computers, so if one or 2 fail, the others all back it up, so you never have to worry about a malfunction.
Also it has a DVD in ceiling so in back seat you can watch it. There are 2 sets of head phones with it. You have airconditioning and heat that comes thru the seats, and the rear seats recline. You could take a babe out on a date, park, get in the back seat and you have your own personal movie theater(without popcorn though)
Go check it out.
Damn, with all that, I'd want to live in the car! And my parents would probably say the same thing, since the car would end up costing more than what they paid for their house!![]()
If you want to get a nice car which is a lot cheaper, but cool and the chicks dig, might I suggest the PT Cruiser or the Scion. Then your parents won't kick you out, but you can still get laid.

The G35 hands down. I don't understand why people would buy a Lexus compact car anyway?
Bull about the A6. I have a 2.7T and have had nothing major wrong with it and it's 5 years old. I test drove the new A6 4.2 and it's awesome and may be my next car. We're on our 4th Audi we love them so. Audi gets no respect. You'd think after winning Le Mans for the past 7 years, they would.
The only thing I didn't like about the M35 is their dash.. It's too funky. But no way does it replaces the Lexus LS430 like the article stated. My dad used to have one and there is no comparison. But I know you're wife will enjoy it. It really is a beautiful car.
Danyo, did you look at the A4?
If you are young and don't have a house, the last thing you need is a car that is too expensive. Get a nice used car and save some $$$ for things that actually increase in value.
Yes, I agree, hence the Scion and PT Cruiser reference.
I was not privy to Danyo's living arrangements.

No way, PT Cruiser or Scion(box on wheels). No need to worry about getting kicked out, at $50k, my new car would end up only being close to 1/2 of what my house cost, is that good?
If not for the ridiculous gas prices, I'd be looking at getting the Corvette for that kind of money.
the PT cruiser convertible is HOTT!
I'd hit it.![]()
The house and car will probably be bought within 6 months of each other
so, you'd have a 50k car and a 100k house? i guess it is better than living in a rundown house in the ghetto and having a cadillac..
Really? Chevy is coming out with their model, which I would prefer, if I was going for that "paddy wagon" look.![]()
I'm looking for a good ratio. Help me out.
you know it looks better to your mortgage lender if you don't have a car payment or if you own your car outright....
and it looks better to your auto lender if you own a house...... so you may want to buy the house 1st , then get the car...
it all depends on your income.
if by "paddy wagon" you mean "more room for sweet sweet lovin'" then thats a good thing.![]()
I'll keep that in mind.
I remember hearing some advice on house/car buying before. Something like, you can only afford a car that is priced lower than what you make in a year and a house priced at what you make in 3 years, I know I don't have the number of years right, anyone heard this before?
I have the apartment for sweet lovin', but I'll need a nice ride for transportation to the "love shack"!![]()
well as an example..
my sister in law who manages a wells fargo financial branch , was approved for a 185k loan with 3 points @ 6.75%.. she turned it down and waited the 6 months until lher car was paid off... the she was able to get a 220k loan with 0 points at 5.89%.
it worked out pretty good for her and thats the recommendation she makes ot all her clients. Unless they are just about jonesing for a loan and then she gives it to them casue thatss her bread and butter.
That's a VERY good point. It probably has more to do with what the lender will approve your payment for, but a good one nonetheless.
If you can afford such a fancy car, you should probably get a 15 year mortgage instead, especially if this is a small starter home you are likely to sell in the future. This will give you more equity and keep you from having to come up with a huge down payment for your next house (when you sell your small one).
sweaty musky back seat sex is HOTT tho.
I having memories of the Drive-In now.... Thanks![]()
Your house pmt shouldn't excede 25% of monthly income.
I think lenders will lend up to 28%.
Car pmt should be much less than that.
Total service of debt (all pmts) should be less than 35% of monthly income as a general guideline.
Of course, not everyone has monthly income, so adjust for the lean times as well.
