Dad died a young age so chances are it effected him majorly and he is a bit socially awkward because of it?
I don't really think that would affect him a whole lot. It may play a part in his work ethic and stuff like that but I don't think it really changes someone's personality a whole lot by the time they are that age(he was 16). I'm probably more quiet than Kawhi, but my father dying when I was 14 isn't the cause- I have always been that way. I could be wrong because dealing with death does affect people differently though.

The thing about psychiatric disorders is that they are merely rough attempts to label very complex phenomena. There are millions of people who are incorrectly diagnosed, and there are millions of people walking around with debilitating disorders who go undiagnosed. It's still a very imprecise science, so any diagnosis should be interpreted with caution.

With that said, if he were to be tested, he might qualify for Asperger's syndrome. However, if the symptoms don't interfere with his daily life, most psychiatrists are hesitant to diagnose. He could also have social anxiety (aka social phobia), or he could just be highly introverted.

There is no evidence whatsoever that he is "mentally slow" so I have no idea where you got that.
    lol

I was reaching with the slow part, but social anxiety is what I mostly assumed.
He went to a packed club with Marco and Danny after the game. Doesn't really scream social anxiety.

He's in the NBA, so he's going to be in social settings by default. It doesn't mean it's natural for him.

So someone with social anxiety would voluntarily go to a loud, packed club? Tell me more, doctor.

Maybe you are just different, my father dying would affect the out of me and I have friends who have parents who died and were devastated I am sure he might be quiet regardless who knows I don't know him, but losing his dad when he was 16 most likely affected him in a lot of ways and helped contribute to who he is today. Remember all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be :P

Like most are saying, I don't think he's dumb (or at least not like mentally challenged) but rather he's just a really quiet guy who keeps to himself

My father dying did affect me a lot but just not really personality-wise or at least I don't think so. I just think by that age its more set or so idk.

    No troll, just wondering.

He seems really socially awkward, or maybe he's a little slow. I can't tell. Any guesses?

    Edit: ignore the slow part
    Kevin Durant?

He's a shy, quiet guy. Never met one of those before? Why you gotta hate on him for that?

Nothing wrong with Kawhi, he's just a Spurs guy that lets his game do his talking. I do want him to give Durant a hard, flagrant foul next time they meet, though and then to let him know he's the one with the ring and and "the REAL MVP"

I love Kawhi, he's one of my favorite Spurs and will be a great player, I'm sure.
