If Wiggins is still with the Cavs, then Kyle Anderson will shut him down. If the White Kevin Love is there, then Tiago Splitter will take care of him.

Going by past precedent, the Spurs are the one team assured of opening the season at home.

I could see the Spurs playing at home on Oct. 28 or 29, with Spurs @ Cavs being the Cavs home opener (or even season opener) two days later.
My birthday is the 29th, so I plan to be in San Antonio that week. I live in Florida, and have never been to a Spurs game in person, so I'm looking forward to being there at the T to see them get their rings and open the season with a big win.

    GO SPURS GO!!!!!

Would love to see LA @ Spurs for the opener. Good for ratings- s with the "return of Kobe" and be nice to see him watch Duncan get that fifth ring.

Lets play them but it needs to be in SA for the ring ceremony obviously. WTH is the difference for ratings whether it's in Cleveland or not?

The story is Lebron coming home and the Cleveland crowd's response to his return. That story isn't the same if the Cavaliers open on the road. That's why Cleveland is absolutley going to open at home and on national TV.

The response is the same in Cleveland on opening night there.. The TV ratings will not be affected one bit if this is on the road..

Is the sky blue on your world, because it IS all about James. It was in Cleveland, it followed him to Miami, and will now follow him back to Cleveland.
Oh I know it is. But I figured that the league might at least pretend at the premise that it's about the team.

I don't actually believe this rumor. It is non-credible in the extreme to me.

It would be pretty ing incredible for the NBA to treat their own champion as second fiddle to Lebron returning to Cleveland. A total slap in the face, tbh. If the NBA wants Spurs/Cavs as it's opener, it should be in SA.

They could just do a doubleheader and make the Spurs the late game.. The biggest game for Lebron is not VS us it is VS the Heat..

Cavs/Heat in Cleveland and Spurs/OKC in SA..

That giant sucking sound will be all the good will for Adam Silver in San Antonio drying up.

No ING way you have the ring ceremony with OKC in the house. The last thing you want is to kick that hornet's nest ...
I'm not afraid of OKC. The only time they beat us in the playoffs, they got the benefit of three straight terribly officiated games in their favor to accomplish it. Including Ibaka getting away with over a dozen goaltends, and them getting multiple instances of 8-10 free throws in 4-6 possessions when SA was locking them down late in games. Plus the 12-15 FTA spans 5 minutes they were getting whenever they needed it. And they still had James Harden who played the best series of his career.

OKC is good but they still aren't beating a healthy Spurs team. Kick the hornets nest all in day imo. 'em.

Lets not forget the refs not calling all the times Westbrook went out of bounds when he stole the ball.

Not to mention OKC being able to get away with murder on the defensive end.

Champions in the past have played in the road...This is not a big deal

But the spurs could use some sort of motivation I guess, NOt that this should be some sort of motivation..

If they play cleveland and lose, IMO, that should at least give them the motivation to show the world that they are there too

yup. Tim screening the out of Fisher to set up Manu's three was my favorite part of game 6, maybe the best part of the whole playoffs. that got and OKC.
