No one spoke badly of Simmons 3 something years ago. His popularity sky rocketed and naturally so did criticism. Looks like he is having difficulty dealing with that

False. You know how Simmons doesn't have comment sections on his articles while other writers do? It's because when ESPN first put in a comments section years ago, he allowed one for his articles for about a week, and all the commenters took a wet all over his lame schtick. His ass couldn't handle the criticism and put a stop to it after that.

Interesting. Does Simmons have any collegiate sports history? Being that statistics guy with experience in sitting on couch and watching games would make me thin skinned too

IMO Simmons prolly has an agenda behind these comments. Maybe he wants out of ESPN to take a position elsewhere? Heard Fox Sports 1 wanted to recruit him a while back tho I have no idea why he'd wanna be part of that show.

Sounds more like Bill is using this to leverage something else.

I dunno the specifics but im guessing he's not allowed to criticize or mock or other ESPN people in general I think so he all got sandy when they were allowed to criticize him. Just my guess as to what set him off. In general he never criticizes ESPN people or shows and you can tell he'd like to in some cases listening to his podcasts

I agree with Baam, tbh..

I still like Simmons for the most part, he's still much better than all the other mainstream ESPN guys(Wilbon's takes are atrocious, for example, he predicted the Lakers would get a 5-6 seed this year), but it's evident that he's extremely sensitive..

I have never heard/seen Mike&Mike, but it seems like those are typical, cliche radio personalities with limited knowledge of the NBA..

Damn right, I used to watch Sports Center as a youngin during football season but now I won't even really go near it to be honest. That whole network just sucks IMO and they talk about the same stuff over and over so I stay away. The Box Score is the only thing worth checking.
