Well I agree with that. I would rather pay double the full luxury tax on Rasho than ever have Kandi associated with this team. All of us who ever considered Kandi two years ago have been utterly owned ever since.Anyway, it seems this topic has no point.
actually, i had thought the spurs wanted him but couldn't afford him? either way, i'm very happy kandi's kg's problem.
My thought exactly.
Your topic is pointless cause it will never happen. Kandi is unmotivated and unproductive. He gave a half ass effort at Los Angeles which earned him offers by several teams before settling with a contract at Minnesota to play with the second best power foward in the NBA. It was here where his character and play were absolutely no help to the team, on or off the court.
Yeah Marcus lets get him in a Spurs uniform, he would fit in great.
At least Nesterovic gives an effort.
If Olowokandi is alive and has a shorter contract, he meets the criteria for a Spurs trade of Rasho.
he is expiring.
You know I used to call that scrub, SUCKMYWOKANDI...until I realized that IF what I had between my legs was truly a WOKANDI...IT WOULDN'T GET UP. It's be too pop damn lazy.
People call Nesterovic a stiff? Hey, it's better than a Wokandi.
Michael Olawakandi has to be the worst starting center in the league. That guy is horrible.
You are not very bright.![]()
I like to look at this thread for laughs.![]()
If the Spurs want to unload Rasho's contract, it's a good option. Anyway, behind Nazr and the development time needed for Oberto, there wont be much playtime available for Rasho.
The Spurs get a player who used to give problems Shaq in the past, and after one year Olowokandi is gone or resigned for cheap, leaving flexibility to resign Nazr with FBR without the luxury tax hit.
And at this point, Rasho's and Olowokandi's stats are quite similar.
It may work for Minnessota too, because Rasho is a better option as starting center. The only problem is, that the trade makes the T-Wolfs better.

we all know that rasho needs to go at some point during this season. why right now. we have no idea how nazr or oberto will play. kandi seems like he will cause problems with team cemistry. c'mom the guy is gonna want to play. he will not like the idea of warming the bench the entire season.
best case is to wait till trading deadline. by that time teams will find out that they do need a center even if it is rasho. also we will find out what we need, if anything and make a good trade. no needs to get rid of rasho right now and if so not for kandiman.
if Rasho is still here, I wouldn't call Nazr's starting a lock.
If you're looking to dump Rasho's salary, packaging him with Barry for an ending contract Tim Thomas would seem to be better from a team positional need fit.
yeah, that is also a good option. I mentioned it before as well, and then we can sign Devin Brown or Dermarr Johnson with a contract similar to the one Detroit gave Evans so we have the position covered for next season at a low price and then i would sign Van Exel for 2 years with the MLE.
If we trade Barry and Nesterovic for Thomas and we sign Brown (restricted), johnson (LLE) and Van Exel (MLE) then we would have the following lineup
Center
Mohammed
Oberto
P.Forward
Duncan
Horry
(Thomas)
S.Forward
Bowen
Thomas
Brown
S.Guard
Manu
DerMarr Johnson
(Brown)
(Van Exel)
P.Guard
Parker
Van Exel
Udrih
The team would be great, also younger and with a much better financial situation.
And i read somewhere before that when Nesterovic was a free agent Layden called him to tell him that he was his first priority of the off-season.
Well, supposedly
a) Thomas wanted Rasho for Nazr, not Malik, but settled.
b) LB doesn't like Thomas AT ALL from their time in Philly.
If that's true, maybe they'll bite sometime before the trade deadline if they think a center may improve their playoff chances.
Isiah is unpredictable, but I can't imagine the Knicks are in too big a hurry to find a center, since they dumped a bunch of money this offseason into Jerome James.
I don't understand, still, all of the urgent desire to move Rasho. Why not let Rasho and Nazr fight it out in camp -- find out, on the court, who is the better player. It might actually elevate the play of both guys. Beyond that, if Rasho is a tradeable commodity, you'd think his value would likely become greater as teams get near the deadline and someone decides they want a big body. If the Knicks had put Nazr on the block last August, I don't think anyone would have given them 2 first round picks and a veteran player. As teams recognize needs and think that they have a chance to make moves to address those needs, the willingness to give up more for certain players goes up. Nobody (except a few itchy-triggered Spurs fans, apparently) feels a great sense of urgency to make rash moves in late August.
Patience. Patience.
who can forget Olowandi's song?, lol

I was one that advocated Kandi over Rasho, two summers ago. Boy, was I wrong. The Kandi man is a dog. Had the Spurs signed him, they would be in the same position as Minny. Faced with the propsect of trying to trade a "dog" of a center that has virtually NO trade value. At least the Spurs should be able to deal Rasho.
the spurs are tryin to trade rasho the spurs wanted to trade rasho for lorezen wright
Yeah, they offered Rasho for wright but Memphis didn't accept and i don't think they will have second thoughts.![]()
What is in discussion for a rasho-kandi trade are salaries. If you ask me who is a better player from the comparison of Nesterovic and Olowakandi i would say for sure Rasho but if you ask me if i would prefer to have in the next off-season an Olowakandi free-agent or a rasho with $7,280,000 and still 2 more years of contract i would obviously answer Olowakandi free-agent.
So am I to assume the Spurs & Wolves are in serious talks about swapping centers?
Guilty. I was really advocating JO at the time but he was a pipe dream...........I was one that advocated Kandi over Rasho, two summers ago. Boy, was I wrong.
Kandi will be lucky to get a vet's minimum once his contract is up. Bad knees, bad at ude, etc. I would rather have Boumtje-Boumtje.
The spurs are looking to UPGRADE not downgrade.. what the you've been smoking man?
