The are you talking about? Our team had a little winning streak going until Parker came back last night. Even then, everytime our team would go on a run it was with Parker on the bench. lol What the are you talking about?
You mean the Detroit Pistons run in the entire second half? Funny, I didn't see TP out there.

Parker haters should stop if they want to be taken seriously. Stop looking at 36 games in which TP has played maybe 20 healthy ones, and in those, he was under clear instructions from Pop to experiment with deferring to Kawhi in the post. And it was early season limited minutes and cruising. Any stats, PER, on/off, etc., are meaningless for this sample size given the cir stances.

Instead, look at 2011-2014, and see the prolific offense with TP leading and all actions being keyed off of his dual threat to penetrate or shoot. Even with his inconsistent last year, he was still by and large the floor general and the leading scorer. He was essential throughout the playoffs and made the Portland series look easier than it really was.

Pop knows this and I could pull up an archive of 100 videos of Pop saying TP is the key to the offense and that everything flows from his movement.

If you take that out, because of injury or age, you cannot expect Cojo or Patty to be any kind of replacement. This is because TP is a hall of famer who in his prime was a top-10 player in the NBA and top 3 point guard (#1 in 2011/2012 & 2012/2013). Now the team may need a new All-star to run the offense or be a focal point that creates the disruptions necessary for Spurs ball-movement to work. The hope is that this is Kawhi.

^^ these antiquated Spurs fans that still think it's 2012, tbh..

The sample size isn't limited to this season, it goes back to last year, too, particularly the playoffs, where the Spurs were literally better when Parker was on the bench.. citing the Portland series where the Spurs blew them out with Parker on the bench in game 5.. ignoring the atrocious Thunder and Heat series' from Parker.. "he runs everything", yet the Spurs were better when he was on the bench..

I'm not surprised when I hear "analysts" and casual fans refer to Parker like we're still in 2012, they don't watch Spurs games or pay attention, so it's all good, but I'm a little surprised that there are still Spurs fans that think he's anywhere near a top-level player anymore..

Anyways, this thread isn't about Parker's soft ass, tbh, let's move on..

And Kawhi needs to take a page out of Kirby's book and just "warrior it." 's always texting on his in' phone on the sidelines using the hand that supposedly doesn't work. If he can text, he can in' play. I know Kobe would be out there, and even though he exaggerates the severity of his injuries, I have no doubt he'd play through whatever "mysterious" injury is affecting Kawhi.

It's inexcusable Duncan and Manu having to carry so much while our young "Finals MVP" sits on the sidelines and texts and "MVParker" sulks on the bench nursing his sore asscheek.
Man that's some silly Mark Jackson level bull . I'd rather Kawhi sit out longer than come in too soon and risk aggravating . Nothing worse than dumb fans second-guessing injuries. "Warrior it" Is this your "gut" feeling?
Figures the dumb hick Texans and fatasses on Spurstalk think that texting on the phone is close to equivalent physical stress to playing basketball. HEY IF HE CAN PLAY FLAPPY BIRDS HE CAN GET INTO FULL CONTACT BASKETBALL

Seriously? The Spurs were in their hockey squad replacements last night through the first half, so 5 left and 5 returned at the same time. The 9 point run by Detroit in the second half of the second quarter is essentially to be expected since teams going on runs is pretty much the norm. Drummond led the Pistons in the second half of the second quarter. Not sure what part of that is on Parker.

Spurs brought a 9 point lead into the beginning of the second half and Parker was not allowed on the court. That is also when the Piston's first string guards starting scoring. They were like a combined 3 of 15 in the first half. Now I am NOT suggesting that Parker is a defensive juggernaut by any stretch. What I am saying is that this loss is NOT on Parker.

Actually Detroit's shooting was mainly from their bigs the whole game. Drummond made mince meat of our front line all night.

Lack of rebounding, pathetic free throw shooting, turnovers in the last five minutes. That is why we lost this game.

Im starting to think all the Parker haters are the same guy with lots of accounts. Surely there can't be that many stupid Spurfans? I mean you guys are clearly not interested in logic or rational discussion. And your attachment to stats you do not understand and could not reproduce (because it requires math and forumulas) is typical plebe behavior for the small mind.

You cannot make conclusions from 20 somewhat healthy games early in a season when the coach is experimenting. It's nonsense.

No no one is denying Parker's crappy play this year and inconsistent (but still well above average) 2014 play. But we take into account the cir stances and show hopeful patience for a recovery. Did Ginobili have an amazing 2014 finals or did he not? If he did, then how did that happen because he looked terrible in 2013.

Gee, maybe there is an analogy here but I won't waste it on trolls.

No. It's my "feeling" based on the facts that the MRI showed nothing, that Kawhi himself said it wasn't as bad as it sounds, and that teammates (Danny Green) have come forward and said he looks good. I admit I was probably barking up the wrong tree by blaming Kawhi. It's more likely that Pop is doing his kid glove bull once again, babying minor injuries as if they're life threatening conditions.

And no, I don't believe the bull line of, "Our specialist hasn't seen this injury in his 250 years of practice."

To me, this smells like more of "CIA Pop" smoke-screening than anything else.

I actually was interested in trying to trade TP in that draft to try and get Drummond with the pick. That was before TP went off in the '13 season though.
