Flipping Waiters plus 2 late rd picks for Shump and Mozgov are worth it IMO. It addresses some of their biggest issues.

Shumpert is one of the worst defensive players in the NBA, tbh, but it's worth the risk, as is Mozgov, for what LeCoon and the delusional Cavs are attempting to accomplish..
LeCoon in Miami worked because Pat Riley remained in charge and didn't give him any additional power, as most people have reported..LeCoon in Cleveland has all the power, he has Carte Blanche, he's the GM and he brings in whoever he wants, his crew gets as many tickets/jobs they want, etc..that's part of the reason this is going to fail, of course..
As we have seen time and time again, winning the genetic lottery, which allows you to become an elite basketball player, doesn't make you capable of properly analyzing and judging the ability/impact of other players..

True - no issue with having to dump a pick to land Lebron. That's smart business. Dumping 3 other 1sts plus Wiggins/Bennett/Waiters for Love/Mozgov/JR/Shump is crazy to me. I was even fine with the pick for Love. It was worth the risk to get talent to come to CLE.
But two firsts, after giving up 2 previously (even if those were ok) is crazy for Mozgov. Their inability to attract FA's to CLE even when Bron was younger was an issue and they need young, cheap talent to fill in gaps/holes and build a sustainble contender. This isn't some old core. They are young enough and should have 3-6 years together. They panicked IMO.
Spurs really ed up the league, winning with nothing but low end signings, d-league guys and draft picks that didn't bolt at the first opportunity. Tim, Tony and Manu, Kawhi, all drafted by SA. Patty, Danny, Boris, all players getting waived or released by other teams. Ayers, got.
GM"s earn respect by having the vision and courage to build a team and win, even when players whine. Caving to Lebron worked out awful last time (no les, Lebron leaving, huge mess) and they are doing the same thing again. No patience at all and just because they have a stupid owner willing to spend and mortgage assets to appease Lebron doesn't make it smart. If they win it will all be moot, but this seems like the least likely way to build a champion model.
