Rondo needs to go or come off the bench.
that would be wise but it really doesnt matter who starts. Or at least it shouldn't. It's who finishes and RC has been utilizing non Rondo lineups to close. SO he may not re-sign but if it's gamble that doesnt pay-off you didnt give up to much. I would not have made such a big move but that has been the Dallas front-office since 2011. They gambled on Tyson and won ...let him walk and lost maybe they thought they could get the same from rondo.

9 ppg
.309 FT%
.411 FG%
that's like some D League numbers right there
watching this game against MEM, dude is so bad, tbh...![]()
We'll be stacked again as soon as we get a legit backup C but I don't think a backup C is worth losing Rondo who's still arguably one of the best PGs in the league. Just sign Jermaine or Okafor and the league will be ed. There's a reason we always struggle against teams that are strong in the paint. Obviously TC himself ain't enough for us to strengthen our paint and even TC is rather thin by a big's standard.
Would do better to move rondo for a decent pg who can shoot and a solid backup c. Rondo for Bledsoe/plumlee or len??
C'mon man, the Suns are re ed but not that re ed.
or maybe we can turn Monta into a spot up shooter, or move him to the bench and promote JJB to the starting five. i've said like a million times that Monta would better suit the role of a sixth man, he's JET 2.0 tbh.
The Mavs would be murdered on defense if Barea became a starter; he's way too small to trout out there against the West's PGs.
Dude cannot be traded until mid-Febraury anyways, and cannot be traded back to Boston until the end of the season...
So you think Jermaine Oneal is all the team needs? He is pretty washed up IMO but you seem to think highly of him if you think the league is ed by just signing Oneal. Okafor no clue as he has not played in along ass time, dude might still have something left?
Crofl Rondo overrated stat padder
Mavs 11-8 since trade. Offense no longer top five.
Thank you @Celtics

we didn't lose too much in the Rondo trade though. all we lost was a solid backup C in Wright but such type of players are not irreplaceable imho, just sign Jermaine or Okafor and it'd be fair to say the Rondo trade cost us basically nothing, knowing that Nelson was just horrible and the picks of a perennial playoff team wouldn't have much value. Plus, we're just going through a tough schedule lately but we still managed a winning record, and we'll only get better as Rondo (also Parsons for that matter) adapts to our system.
Really need Jermaine. Powell has a lot of promise to develop into a real solid backup PF/C, but is too small right now. They need at least one defender with some strength to handle guys like Randolph. Tyson is a bit too skinny to match up with his brute strength.
Parsons is the key though. He is the glue of the team.
It'll be interesting to see how many dimes Rondo gets in Dallas, considering there have been numerous reports of Boston artificially inflating that stat since they've had him.
You really think if Cuban has to pick between the two he picks Ellis?? Lol no
Rox had the chance to trade for Rondo multiple times and didn't do it. They don't want him.
Between Ellis and Rondo, you pick Ellis all day.
Both are role players that need a superstar to really shine. Unfortunately dirk looks washed up.
