It's obvious the Mavs offense requires their point guard to be a spot up shooter. We picked possibly the worst spot up shooting guard in the league.

Rondo can sneak into the paint at will and his rebounding is very good for his position/size, both of which can help us a lot imho. It's been just one month or something since he became a mav, we better give him and Carlisle some more time to see if we can finally find a way to make him contribute. Parsons also played like in his first several games as a mav, if I remember correct.

Mavs made some awful decisions down the stretch, uncharacteristically low IQ basketball..

Rondo's defense not so good tonight. Looked like Nelson with letting players hit 3's.

You saying the four rebounds he grabbed in the last 3 games isn't enough?

Like I said with the way Ellis was playing and how filthy the Dirk/Parsons pnr is ... and the need to integrate Parsons as the #3 ...i thought the Rondo trade was not a wise move. Yes, Nelson sucked Harris has not been consistent either ... but none of those guys have a negative impact on Ellis and Parsons. A knockdown shooter (like Calderon) along with JJB and a defense first PG would be a perfect setup for this Mavs team. They were more of a darkhorse le team pre-trade ... now I think bench/front-court depth and fit between Rondo/Ellis will undo these Mavs come playoffs.

I think they had an outside shot and should have sought a smaller move to solidify that shot versus gambling on Rondo.

They have some shooters. Dirk and Parsons can shoot and Ellis is streaky. Problem is Rondo needs ball in his hands to contribute ... and though he can play defense like most players when they dont contribute on offense they tend to slack on defense. Rondo doesnt care about shots but likes to pound the ball and create assists. Kidd though when here (DFW) didnt mind giving up the ball and didnt care if he recorded the assist.

My worry is that Rajon will sign in L.A. and if not utilized right and surrounded with proper team-mates we will pay near max money and have the same problems as Mavs without a top notch coach to cover for it ...

Parsons is more streaky than Ellis though.... the same way its frustrating as a rockets fan seeing shot distribution amongst the team, the mavs have the same problems

Need to switch up the Monta/Rondo backcourt. It's obvious it won't work, if they have to choose one they will obviously pick Rondo. Need a two guard who doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective, more like a Afflalo or Matthews. To a lesser extent Danny Green or Marco B.

that would be dumb ellis has been the better player for at least the last 3 seasons ...especially the last 2 under RC ...

Rondo may be your next PG as Dwight tries to buddy up with his co-horts ...
