Makes 0 sense. Durant will be back within two weeks and they have a home heavy schedule and a game lead over the Pelicans.
His style of shot blocking is so reliant on his jumping ability coming from the weak side. It's only a matter of time for the knees to concede. uva player and uva blow to OKC.
This is one weird season and there are still about 20 games to go.

OKC not using the word 'surgery' anymore for their players.

yup OKC is known to rush their players back. They are lucky common methlahomans are too distracted to connect the dots and point the fingers at their terrible medical staff![]()
Disagree on his style of play being a cause for his injuries , DeAndre Jordan is the same type (not as good) of defender. Jordan has played over 330 straight games (playoffs included) he probably relies even more on his athleticism and has held up extremely well in even more minutes per game than Ibaka plays.
The power of positivity![]()
Durant returns later this week and the combination of Adams and Kanter should keep them afloat at the 8-seed, especially with the Pelicans having a touch schedule remaining. They'll still make the playoffs. It's all about their health come playoff time.
@ Spurs fans celebrating this news. We need OKC to be healthy so they can beat up the Warriors in the first round.
I understand they probably can/will still make the playoffs, but will they go anywhere once they get there? They will face GS in the first round, with their roster having two key players returning from injury and both possibly not in game shape. Top it off, Westbrook will be exhausted trying to keep them afloat for the next 2-3 weeks. As explosive/relentless as he is, he's an injury waiting to happen. So you risk the long term health of your team for an 8th seed and a first round exit?
Yes, Durant has one year left after this season. Punting one of the two remaining playoff runs to "preserve" long term health is extremely conservative. They aren't likely to beat OKC but if they get healthy within the final month there have an outside chance of knocking off GSW.
After that, they would be playing the winner of the Grizzlies-Mavs series that's a more favorable match up.
^^^ YEP.
OKC was going to get beat down out by the Warriors if they limped into the playoffs unless the Thunder miraculously got everyone healthy and clicking. Now the Warriors are going to blow them out of the water once they meet.
Spurs can't rely on OKC to take out the Warriors. If they end up on the Warrior's side of the bracket they are going to have to do it themselves.
Beautiful.... I mean, nah it, I bet $500 on the Spurs to win it all when they were 8-1, beautiful news
Exactly. I have no freaking idea why any Spurs fan would be happy with this and also not wanting them to make the playoffs.
I want them in the playoffs. I also don't want them getting a lottery pick if they miss the playoffs.
Personally I think Westbrook is toughest guy for us to guard (tougher than bron) and serge obviously causes problems. I actually think we matchup decently on curry and Thompson. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the en mavs keep slipping maybe even to 8
Noone can guard durant. Not even kawhi. But kawhi can guard westbrook. We just need to shut one down to win. We always let durant get his because we know we can't stop him.
Matchup toughness for the spurs is durant >lebron > westbrook in that order.
Looks like he's out for the remainder of the playoffs
The lane is WIDE ing open now. Kanter can't defend a manikin. Are you not remembering the ass raping we did in games 1 and 2 last year?
He'll miss one game, maybe.
Dude, even a simple cleanout means weeks.
Be funny if he needed microfracture surgery.
whats the deal with all these injuries
We play the pelicans the last game of the season. If it comes down to one game, would any of u like to see us throw the game just to keep the thunder out of the playoffs?that would be payback for 2012's flopping and bull officiating
