It never settled though into a career. It was terribly sporadic, terribly frustrating. He was perpetually afraid of the 3 second call once they targeted it.
No one said it did. His unfortunate knee injuries, and health in general were the issue, not his fear of the 3 second call.
It was a strong component of his ruination, Phil. His game was rushed, frenetic, everything he'd built, nurtured and polished was taken from him upon an edict from Stern in New York. Mentally he was compromised.
