it is not poverty when they have shelter over their head, food on the table and access to medical care.
their kids should be taken away from them. people are constantly looking to adopt babies. so much so they go to russia, china, etc.
if you want to help them, force them to put them up for adoption. or let them live in poverty. don't subsidize their lifestyle

clandestino thats insane
Please. There are people NOT on welfare that are living in poverty. Name the last person -- aside from Terry Schiavo -- that starved to death in this country...either on or off welfare.
that is called child abuse and his parents did it to him. not the government. they had food, just CHOSE not to give it to him.
While I disagree with the last sentence in your post, the point is, no one would starve.
The current Welfare system is all about removing the stigma of being poor. Because private and non-profits require a means test before providing aid, the all-might federal government just gives it away so no one will feel bad about having their plasma t.v. and pimped out ride when using theirTexas Star card (or whatever that welfare credit card is called).
They also don't avail themselves of available shelters and soup lines because, frankly, they don't want to take anything from certain groups like The Salvation Army.
And, where is your Welfare System for them anyway? Why are they starving? Have not not dumped Trillions into the War on Poverty?
You seem to be arguing with yourself now so, I'll stay out of the way.
Has nothing to do with the system. Has everything to do with the CYCLE of Poverty.
Being Born Poor doesn't mean you have to stay poor. Close friend of mine came to this country from taiwan and didn't speak or write a lick of English and had only $1000 to his name.
He worked in a restaurant washing dishes 80per week and saved enough money to buy his own retaurant. Now He owns several restaurants and is loaded.
No.
Maybe tough luck they are Crazy, but the tough luck I'm referring to is loss of Job etc..and the people who are crazy aren't experiencing tough luck or on drugs/alcohol?
They could probably be on drugs and alcohol, but again it's the insanity that is the primary reason they are homeless.
Again reference my definition of tough luck.and the people who are on drugs/alcohol aren't crazy or experiencing tough luck?
Not saying that we as a community shouldn't do anything to help, but white guilt doesn't help.
Instead of all the free housing that turn into war zones, we should focus on rehabilitation programs. Spend a ton of money on Alcohol and Drug education and rehabilitation.
