Good for Tony. I would be pissed to if somebody was telling me I couldn't listen to music or talk on my cell phone, etc.

He is doing them a favor and not getting paid for it. I wish he would tell them to F off so he can get back here and start working out with the team. As he said in the translation, I'm sure Pop would be happy to have him here during summers. The French suck.

And here 1parker1 was saying I was some sort of French hater when I said TP should be staying at home instead of getting put through by the French coaching staff earlier this summer, and now it appears TP has come to the same conclusion.

    'Nuff said.

Uh, the way it seems to me is he's pissed he didn't get to rest because of some bull mountain trip and then some guy who doesn't even come along gets a spot where Parker wanted his buddy to be. I'd be pretty pissed too.

Hmmm...Parker has never been a malcontent or cancerous with the Spurs...he's never done anything except be a team player and do as his coach told him...

Parker is used to playing in a highly structured, rigid and authoritarian system under a very controlling coach...and he's used to getting absolutely blasted by his coach in front of 20 thousand people almost to the level of public humiliation...and Tony has never done anything but take it in stride and try to improve.

When I see comments like this coming from Parker it makes me think the problem is more with the French team than with Parker...I think the main thing that is pissing him off is the double standard...where a proven heartless sack of like Weiss gets a free pass that the rest of the team doesn't....

I stand with Tony on this one...I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he probably knows more about winning than anyone else on his team, and that if he's ing he's got very good reasons for doing it, IE he sees a dysfunctional system in place that is hurting morale...

Tony has earned that type of benefit and respect from Spursfans based on his conduct with our team the past 4 years...Yes his response is a little haughty, but not for a Frenchman IMO...and that doesn't mean his criticism is inaccurate.

    This article is BS.
The guy who wrote this (I can't call him a journalist) extracts some sentences of a TP interview and wrote a story around these sentences.
It's not journalism(sports.fr is just a web site like hoopsworld or realgm).

Tony has made an interview for his website :
    http://www.tp9.net/fr/itw.php?id=99

    Some extracts

The only problem, it is that through the interviews which I give, one interprets some of my remarks to make sulfurous papers of them.
This extract is really good news :

As envisaged, I feel better an better. I feel myself very well in this team, whether it is on or apart from the floor. The positive point, it is that my address at 3 points returns (8/16 on the last three matches)(the 3's line is at 21ft in Europe). Chip (Engelland) work starts to pay. I am more comfortable. The only problem, it is that I feel so good that sometimes I precipitate my shots. Now, it is necessary that I do the same with the free-throws. I am in progress but it is not sufficient. At least, I stopped bricks. It looks now like real free-throws.

This is great news. If Tony's shot really is improving then the league had better watch out. TP having an outside shot that others need to honor is far and away better than any of our moves this summer.

TP + outside shot = unguardable.

I could care less if TP is being a to the French national team. Spurs players playing in the summer with their national teams. I don't want to see TP, Manu, TD, or Beno sustain a major injury while not suited up for the Silver & Black. I also don't way to see them wear themselves out in the summer.

Something I can add about this :
I've seen some of his 3's on french TV and it looks better than before (even if I'm not a shoot doctor).

LOL, Some people feel representing their country is one of the highest honors one can have. It matters not that you don't like it. IMO Manu is going to continue representing Argentina as long as he is able. I'm sure further on in his career he won't be able to sustain playing a whole season+Argentinian team, but for now, expect him to play every time he gets a chance. In fact, I'm almost sure he'll be playing in the world championship.

AHF, where do you get this crap from? I think Tony would love to play for France, however, they clearly suck, he's obviously having some problems with the way the coaching staff and management is running the team, and it seems he's not happy with the team chemistry in general.

How the heck is that the same as what you said? You said that Parker should sit his ass at home all summer and not risk injury. I believe you were on the the bandwagon with other fans who thought that his first obligation was to the Spurs.

Either way, looks like you may be getting your wish.

He already passed on the National team this summer.

With what he went through last season in SA, I'd be surprised if he played for them other than maybe next Olympics. The WCs mean zip. They already have an Olympic berth because they are the defending Gold medalists. Let the younger players start to get experience. They'll have to take over the team eventually, anyway.

Eva was on entertainment tonight.. she's going to some awards with her "girlfriend" friend. They mentioned Tony was out of the country.

But they set it up in the opening as if it was something new "Let ET tell you who Eva's going to the awards with and not her boyfriend Tony Parker"...

Anyway, if he decides to not play, this is good for the Spurs.
This is how I feel about Manu and Tim, neither should be playing in the summers

Maybe Tony is calling out his team to motivate or light a fire under them like Pop does when he says the Spurs play "soft" or like when he called out Rasho this past season. Well .............. one of those worked, anyway.
