Just what the board needs...another guy who learned about politics and history from left wing blogs. ing Great. Insight like that is scarce around these parts.
Oh, come on now. You know as well as I do that there are plenty of right-wingers who get their political info from Sean and Rush.

Be a man like Bush and admit it.

I don't agree with him on much at all, but he comes across as a man with whom a handshake means something.
Couldn't have said it better Manny

BTW, I have felt since the beginning he would step up and accept responsibility. Seemed like the God fearing Texan thing to do.

Now watch the demos try to pile on, like the rats they are.

Today is a good day for all Republi-cons to come out of the closet and admit what they are!

Oh, come on now. You know as well as I do that there are plenty of right-wingers who get their political info from Sean and Rush.
Hmm....this would require me to make the assumption that both parties are just different sides of the same coin, as they have been for much of American history...unfortunately you are wrong...at least when talking PCTs. The remaining left is basically devoid any moderate voice...it's definitely devoid of it at it's leadership positions...this is not true of the Right.

Since the Republicans are in charge of the country, it would seem that the moderates are generally right centered now, for capturing the moderate vote is the only way a political party may gain that control...and I think obviously...the moderates are the people with the highest political IQ, because they realize that neither party is rigth all of the time.

Be a man like Bush and admit it.

Someday the left will again be able to do more than draw lame moral equivalencies and try to make 2 wrongs equal a right...and on that day, I just might consider supporting that party again...however I see nothing to indicate that day is near...and everything to indicate that it is getting further and further away.

And you might actually have a point Joe....within this forum there might be just as many right wing blog educated posters as there are lefties...

It could just be that the majority of the lefties have 5-10 additional nicks on this forum that they use deceptively to inflate their influence on the board...

One thing is certain...the majority of the lefties on this board do use many additional nicks while posting in this forum...while those in the middle and right...don't really

Go on Joe...Be like Bush...admit it.

I've never absolved the federal government of blame in all this.

I do have a serious problem with the demorats, including Miss high and mighty gov. of La., trying to place all the blame on Bush and FEMA for not being able to bail them with a day's notice when they were too stupid to follow the letter of their own evacuation/disaster plans.

''Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government,'' Bush said at joint White House news conference with the president of Iraq.

''To the extent the federal government didn't fully do it's job right, I take responsibility,'' Bush said.
    "To the extent..."

No one has yet to say to what extent that is, have they?

The president is going to give Dan a divide by zero error.

    President Bush = Wrong

President Bush says it is his fault.

    Bush admitting fault = Wrong

    But it is Bush's fault?

    ERROR ERROR ERROR

Divide by zero error. Maybe Dan can take the limit of the equation as he approaches insanity.

Hey, lying then asking for forgiveness worked for another president.

Good point except that he neither lied no did he ask for forgiveness. Other than that you're right on the money.

"To the extent" = qualification, wiggle room, weasal words.

"serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government"

... still sliming city/state, spreading the responsibility.

Come on, Mr. Macho Bring 'em On, stand up like a man and admit your Big Government showpice, DHS/FEMA, designed and implemented by your all-business/no-nonsense/MBA/CEO/this-is-how-Repugs-do-govt team, to carry out your "vow" to protect America, failed miserably, fatally in crunch time.

Take the banana out of your flight suit and stop hiding behind state rights and legal bull .

You are failed as a leader,
your are failed as protector of America,
    your are failed as commander-in-chief

America has become less safe on your watch,
has more enemies directly as a result of your BS war,
and 1000's of Americans have died needlessly in Iraq and Katrina as direct result of your government's profound incompetence.

    Um, no .

You gonna say that state and local leadership had no faults in this entire crisis?

Say it, hard ass. I dare you. Say that Blanco and Nagin are 100% exempt from criticism or reflection.

    Prove you're a sheep.

To the extent, because to anyone whose not such a bigot towards anything related to W. or the presidency it's obvious state and local people F'ed up too. That's his point... why the should he take responsibility for the state and local screw ups? Oh yeah... they're democrats, and democrats never screw up [/dumbass boutons]

"serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government"

Again, unless you're either a bigot or an idiot (which you look as though you might be both), the state and local governments deserve some blame.

Riddle me this oh spiteful one... Why is it neither Mississippi or Alabama are having the problems NO had, despite having maybe 1/20th of the federal resources dedicated to them combined that NO had?

To save you the time, it's because both states followed their hurricane playbooks, while Blanco and Nagin improvised on the fly, then crapped themselves when the levee broke and expected the federal government to fix it all on the spot.
