I will say it once again. If you look overall stats, teams that turn the ball over more often are already BEHIND AND THEREFORE TAKING BIGGER RISKS. The most turnovers occur by teams that are already LOSING in the FOURTH quarter.
Do you understand the difference between your contention and the stat I have given you? You and your old cliches you hear and regurgitate. Think for Gods sake. Everyone understands that turning the ball over is not good. But it is often revealing to note why and when MOST turnovers occur.
If it was as simple as you state teams would run QB kneels and punt hoping for a turnover.

And I think Gray is showing little acceleration and not much ability right now. There are kids behind him who are better runners right now. But our offensive line is terrible and Gray can block and catch swing passes. So he plays.

One looks at the turnovers and sees that Dallas had one BIG turnover to Atlanta's zero. Atlanta wins.
Your conclusion would be turnover battle determined the outcome. Which of course would be entirely WRONG. Atlanta had zero turnovers in the first half and were getting mauled. They could not stop a simple Dallas game plan that involved low risk running plays and play action to suit Weeden. And it worked beautifully. Dallas was running roughshod 28-14 half. Atlanta makes defensive adjustments at half, stops Dallas. Their offense tears up the Cowboys with time controlled running and passing. Dallas does not score again. Game over
