Needs to save the 3s for the Warriors, tbh..I don't care if he shoots 10% in round 1 and 20% in round 2(they can probably beat OKC without Danny being huge, offensively), he needs to hit 40 against Golden State or the Spurs aren't beating them..

Spurs are going to need some points from Green/Martin, Mills and Ginobili regularly in the WCF. Pop can't leave him in if he's not knocking down wide open shots.

    - you think the warriors beat the clippers?

He's dribbling less and shooting more. Always a good thing.

In the past we'd have taken our opponents focusing on Danny. Now we seem to think it's an issue if Danny struggles because of that focus. Danny is not the catalyst of this team's offense. That would be LMA and Kawhi still, and believe it or not, Tony Parker. Tony has to be able to attack the paint successfully a few times to get guys like Danny (who cannot dribble penetrate well) open looks. If teams want to focus on trying to stop LMA and Kawhi, Danny is going to have a field day.

With Danny shooting like , Spurs won 67 games and matched an NBA record for wins at home, losing just once to the probable champs this season in the AT&T center. If Danny can break out even a little, the Spurs are looking at the WCF, and if Steph's ankle flares up again, possibly the Finals.
The problem is, they haven't been focusing on Danny. In the '13 Finals, they focused on Danny in those last few games, and that had a lot to do with his 3P shooting going to . I can understand that, and accept it. If they're out running Danny off the line, that defender can't help anywhere else. They've been leaving Danny open more and more, and he hasn't made them pay nearly enough - so they keep helping off him. He can fix that in a hurry by knocking down some shots.

He has missed open shots against bad teams all season.
An open 3 is an open 3, no matter who it's against. If he can hit that shot he's a threat on offense and the defense can't pack the paint.
Yeah - that exactly. But so far, he's looking better in the playoffs. And his hustle level is definitely a big plus.

Yeah, if he could somehow get shots falling regularly, there is a sixth LOB in the near future. I still believe he can do it.

It's great to see him producing like this in the playoffs. I hope he keeps it going. When he's making his three's were are almost unbeatable.

Reputations are made in the playoffs. Even though Danny had a poor regular season from deep, and even if he should continue to shoot poorly, he still carries that reputation as a great 3-pt shooter and requires some attention.

If he continues to shoot like he did in game one, look out, this could get ugly.

catching and shooting without taking time to think or dribble lets muscle memory take over. Most of his 3s were of that variety. Hope he just continues to catch and let it fly.

By the way, it seems to me that his defense picks up and he tries harder when his shot is going in. So it is very critical that he continues to shoot well during the playoffs.
