I'm genuinely perplexed by this. How can someone be a Spurs fan and hate Kawhi Leonard? That's like being a Bulls fan and hating Michael Jordan in 1993. Actually, it's even weirder than that, because Jordan was a person, but Kawhi is humble and unassuming. What's not to like?

I would maybe understand if he was threatening the old guard's legacy, but they're already old and declined anyway, so that's not an issue. Kawhi is keeping them afloat at this point.

I'd say Kawhi is a Top 5 player in the league, improving daily, already the league's best perimeter defender, highly coachable, only 24 and under contract for another 4 years. He is the best asset we've got. He deserves a lot of praise and its wonderful to watch him blossom before our eyes.

That said I definitely DO AGREE that there is a strange contingent on this board who become strangely threatened on Kawhi's behalf if you praise any other Spur. If I were to say, for example, that LMA is as gifted as Kawhi on offense and indeed a more natural scorer than he is, I'm sure there will be a few who brand me a traitor, idiot or both.

I cannot imagine being a Spurs fan and not being a Kawhi fan. Not only is he our best player, but he works so hard and is so unassuming it would be difficult to dislike him.
