Yes but you could say the same about every team. How far do the Cavs go without LeBron? Or Houston without Harden? Or even GS without Curry. Injuries are part of the game and are factors that show winning a le requires skills and luck. Spurs have as good a shot as any to win a le.

While we are speculating, would the Spurs have won the le in 2000 if Timmy hadn't injured his leg at the end of the season after landing on Pollard following a massive dunk? Lakers were clearly the best team in 2001 and had aura of invincibility in 2002, but were totally beatable in 2000 and had a few close calls. But alas, Timmy gets injured and Spurs lose in Round 1 to the Suns.
Would the Spurs have any les if DRob didn't get hurt?

Well the most meaningless NBA le would go to the Warriors. 73 win team last year adds a league MVP in Durant, like they really needed the help.

The Cavs though are the real team to beat, they are the defending NBA champs.

Spurs to win the NBA le this season would have to have a stroke of luck. Like the Warriors and Clips getting injured and the Cavs losing LeBron to injury in the East finals. It's just reality, odds are it will be Warriors/Cavs again for the 2017 Finals. Of course that is why they play the games, even healthy anything can happen in a 7 game series, so the Spurs have a chance. No team should just lay down and hand the le to the Cavs or Warriors, make them earn it. The Cavs and Warriors have become the poster teams of the league now till some team dethrones them.

The way CP3 owns the spurs is a similar way Kyrie owns the Worriers. So the finals are pretty much set in stone Cavs vs winner of Clits/Worriers
Choke-P doesn't own the Spurs, Doc owns Pop. (Should have fired Pop & hired Glenn in '99)

Spurs didn't have a problem w/ the Cripples when Del Negro was the coach but the Spurs can't score on a Doc Rivers coached team & it's been that way since his day in Boston. (Celtics won 6 of the 7 match-ups b/w '07-'11 which basically indicates that if Doc has an equivalent talent then Pop has no chance)

Timmay was undefeated against the Celtics for the first 18 games of his career (http://www.espn.com/nba/recap/_/id/270122002) but Doc put an end to that in 2007 BEFORE they made the Garnett trade (http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200703170SAS.html)

Sorry. I meant a minor injury to Kawhi. Just to keep him at 80%. We are out in the 1st.

On the other hand, the Cavs stll make the finals witha 80% Lebron.

My point is even with everyone at 100% we are still a soft long 2 pt shooting team in the core. We need a trade

Ha. No les for Spurs and Pop probably would be coaching the Kings or some other team famous for being a coaching carousel. Tim Duncan gave the Spurs status as the best run franchise in NBA history during his career. And Pop is not shy about letting everyone know that he and R.C. are only great because they were lucky enough to have Tim Duncan on the team.
