He's 14. He's got a lot of time to decide whether lying to get League Pass is wrong or not. Besides, something as stupid as faking religion to get extra cable will pale in comparison to the first time he comes home drunk, the first time he forges a doctors note, the first time his mom finds out he's not a virgin, and the first time he gets high.

Go for it. One day when his mom is in a home and fakes insomnia to play an extra hour of bingo she'll understand.

has a 14 year old lived long enough to make any sort of decision about anything like that? i know it's vogue to not believe in god and everything but flaunting atheism is just as bad as being a pharisee. go to church, it may do you some good. if it doesn't, you have the league pass anyway. or just get the nba audio for like 30 bucks.

i have cousin who is still in highschool, hes broke and wants league pass... and his mom is a devout cristian and told him that if he went to church and let god save him , she would get it for him... if you where in this position, and you loved basketball, would u do it?
If in fact the offer from his mom is she will get LP if he goes to church and gets saved, he has a decision to make. It's important to be true to yourself. If he is willing to go to church but isn't so sure about promising the salvation part, then why not make a counter-offer? He can say that he really wants LP and he is willing to go to church and he is willing to listen, but can't promise that he will decide to follow Christ even after all of that. I think she would really appreciate his honesty and this may be enough for her to say "yes" and get LP.
