30M unemployed, and Repugs, having enriched their BigDonor class with CARES, say to The People: YOU

Moscow Mitch already said the Repug Senators are against any more stimulus.

Thank god the Dems retook the house in 2018, otherwise I have no doubt the GOP would pass a law delaying the election to keep itself in power.
Perhaps they'll find another way. Barr wouldn't answer when asked if he thought the President has the power to move the election.

Jonathan Turley both sides-ing, it's the motif of excusing whatever jackassed thing DJT says because he's incompetent and doesn't know what he's talking about.

If it’s any indication apartment rent collections (as a %) are down in July. Imo were going to have an even bigger crisis on our hands once landlords are evicting tenants left and right.
Hence Trump building up his Schutzstaffel, knowing this is the kind of that gets governments overthrown.

At this point I’m convinced the only way we get real change in this country is with blood on the streets and rich people fearing for their lives, and millions of people getting evicted with no safety net to turn to is a big step in that direction.

Except the only blood on the streets will be the comkon folks

You really think any uber rich would run any risk if an all out civil war breaks?

Just look at the covid crisis. Uber rich can easily get a test and treatment. Common folk at this moment cannot get tests much less treatment.

I know cause my bro in law got his surgery postponed yesterday because theres no covid tests available

The only scenario where US rich would be at risk is if both true liberals and trump s unite to overthrow establishment.

    That will never happen.

Hopefully the military goes against Trump's SS if we get there. Which isn't much of a stretch when you look at 1/3 of renters/homeowners with a mortgage being in danger of eviction. If we're ever going to see a revolution happen, it's going to be in the next 3 months or so.

Or they just leave. Look at NYC this past Spring. Manhattan was a ghost town while neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx were inundated with Covid.

Bezos and many of his co billionaires have conveniently bought land and citizenships in New Zealand. Interesting this happened around 2017. Did they know something we didnt?

It's a foreseeable problem, I sure hope the US Congress does something to avert another epic self-wounding.

It still kinda surprises me that neither major party wants to Santa Claus it up and shovel money out the door to keep tens of millions of jobless people housed and fed during a depression/pandemic. It's absolutely the smart thing for the USG to replace lost demand by giving people money and it gooses the economy too.

You guys sound like you are celebrating the drop. You do realize that it beat the expectations.

Miami Dade has decided to (outsource) and go all virtual. They should refund the money for each student so that parents can choose to send their kids to whatever private schools are open. One could pay for this virtual school by yourself and have left over to spend on extra tutoring, resources, etc. Instead, what are the teachers going to be doing - sitting on their butts after taking attendance.

The CARES ACT was the best official act of Trump's first term. Team Trump should build on that foundation rather than shrinking it.

Poverty went down, 40 million people thrown out of work didn't get evicted. That's huge.

    What's your beef?

A 33% reduction in the economy beats your expectations? God damn, it’s remarkable how Trump s think Trump is going to set America on a path towards prosperity yet they have rock bottom expectations they measure him against.

Btw, that's not a blanket endorsement of the CARES ACT, I've posted copiously elsewhere about the money firehose for big business and Wall Street.

The 2008-9 bailout looks like a garden hose compared to this one. This one is Niagara Falls.

And how did it beat the expectations? Was it from the 2 months of reopening that lead to hundreds of thousands of more infections? Time to celebrate, I guess?

I was talking to rmt; you replied seconds before I did.

The CARES act was the best thing this country has done in a long time. It's just a shame the people got crumbs while big businesses reaped most of the benefits.

If only Republicans had the same economic decline expectations for Obama that they have for Trump, he would have ing obliterated them.
