Howard will be out for a long time. Hopefully he gets back in a month.
I guess that means Daniels will be the starter at SF now.

It's like the spurs need anymore breaks this year. Might as well give them the championship.
Dude come on. Talking like that gets you or your team no where.

You got a good team, a good coach. Positive things going on, cheer up.

Spurs are healthy. T-Mac is out, Amare is out, and now Howard is out. The spurs never lose anyone big. If so for a short time.
Good lord, where is the picture of the baby.

    Remember last year?

That Duncan guy being out from the middle of March through the end of April practically?? Last year??? No?? oh.....

Finley and Barry have missed time this year, yes they aren't BIG people, but to the Spurs rotation, they are Big.

    So.

    WAH.

Either him or Van Horn. Tough choice for Avery. Josh Powell could back up both of them.

I am really depressed because losing Howard is like losing Dirk. Howard is a beast with his energy level. His outside shooting has been a big reason of the mavs improvement. I was just saying things are working well for the spurs. That is fact. It is just strange when the mavs start looking great than injuries hit.

Yes but many teams would say the same. Some Spurs fans would argue injuries with DRob in the 90s.

Every team has a story, the Spurs had a good one I think, but re-wrote it with better things if ya get me. I think Dallas could do the same. Honestly them, and Detroit are the only teams that potentially scare me. Dallas has been the most consistant team in the West right there under the Spurs since 99' in my books.

Plus, you or no doctor really knows how fast he could heal. As long as he doesn't pull a Grant Hill, he'll be fine.

Newsflash - Finley is a SF. He's the same height as Bowen, and 25 lbs heavier. Judging by his ball handling, he sure isn't a guard.
well we lose something defensively when bowen leaves the game. maybe bowen has a longer wingspan, but he can guard a wider range of players. bad syntax on my part.

good teams find a way to cover their injuries, make the adjustments and have other players step up to fill the void while they are needed

Like the spurs without Duncan. Face it if you lose a huge player it is not easy to recover from. The mavs also loss Stackhouse so it is getting thin in the swing position.

So losing Tim for 12 games up until 2 games before the playoffs starts not to mention him tweaking his other ankle during the second is a good thing?

Face it. Right now the western conference is setting it up perfectly for the spurs to get to the finals. All they need now is for Billups to go down and the championship is the spurs. The spurs won't get any serious injuries this year. I can't see Duncan getting hurt.

i say a double asterisk if we win the championship again this year! so the finals media guide will go something like:

    2006: San Antonio Spurs **
    2005: San Antonio Spurs
    2004: Detroit Pistons
    2003: San Antonio Spurs
    2002: Los Angeles Lakers
    2001: Los Angeles Lakers
    2000: Los Angeles Lakers
    1999: San Antonio Spurs *

    * lockout shortened 50 game season
**Amare Stoudamire of Phoenix Suns did not play until March
Seattle Supersonics lost Antonio Daniels and coach Nate McMillan in offseason
Shaquille O'Neal of Miami Heat was out 5 weeks in Novemeber
Josh Howard of Dallas Mavericks was out 4 weeks in November
Nene of Denver Nuggest was lost for year
Kenyon Martin of Denver Nuggets was out 3 weeks in November
Joe Johnson, formerly of Phoenix Suns, was lost in offseason to Atlanta Hawks

The curse of beating the spurs. Excuse me while I kill myself.
You may still get off easy. The Wizards lost 5 straight after they beat us.

From what I've read he won't be back for a couple more weeks. Every time he's tested the knee it's swelled up on him. They don't want to rush him and I'm wondering if he might not go out like Christie.

As for Howard, Donnie Nelson says he'll be out 3 weeks. At least. Most Mavs fans believe he'll be out longer as that was one nasty turn. And word is that they'll be signing Adrian Griffin. He played well for the Mavs before but not sure how much he has left in the tank.

Howard is a stud and the Mavs will miss him deeply.
