Yes, Oz got through med school. That should mean he'd recognize that abortion is a valid medical procedure and a vital component of womens' overall healthcare. Yet he decided to pander to his nutter Christian fundie base against his medical training/judgement.

That shows a dangerous lack of principles, tbh.

We've got patients in Texas being forced to carry dead fetuses that will decay and thus become a source of sepsis if they aren't promptly aborted. These patients are being held under observation until signs of liver failure or stroke are picked up by testing/monitoring. This is not only dangerous but costly for the patient and traumatic for everyone involved. I've seen some ed up in medicine, but the current situation our ob/gyns are being placed in is about the worst.

And, that's just one example of the many ways in which a pregnancy can go devastatingly wrong prompting the need for an abortion. Placental abruption, fatal chromosomal defects, fatal physical defects, fatal organ maldevelopment, terminal genetic disease.....etc etc etc. I'd hate to see this asinine practice spread to other states.

I believe Oz is a dangerous vote. I hope you might read a little more into it before actually following through because the potential for great harm is there.
I can't imagine making a decision for Senator based on abortion. Since it would take 60 Senators for any federal abortion action to take place ( o Obama administration? WTF were you thinking by not codifying?; oh, yeah: this will make a great issue to demagogue when Roe v. Wade inevitably gets overturned). So it could influence my vote for governor, but considering that issue for a senator makes no sense.

BUT even if I were to do so, I'm afraid I'd have to side with Oz on this one. First, Oz's stated position is that he thinks this should be left up to the democratic process in the states. I understand that he gave a non-answer when asked about Graham's bill - whether he would vote for it or not. For what that's worth, he's learning how to be a politician. I would rather him state a position than not, but he was my third choice in the Republican primary, so I don't like the guy - he's just better than Fetterman (not a high bar).

Fetterman's position on the other hand is no restrictions, ever. My position is a moderate, reasonable one. It is the position all civilized countries have adopted - abortion is legal until somewhere during the second trimester (beginning, middle or end). Only Canada and some states in the US allow third trimester abortions. I consider that infanticide, and, apparently a great many people in democratic societies around the world agree with me. Until a handful of years ago, most elected Democrats in this country would have as well. BUT, if you make me choose between the two extreme views being hoisted by the two parties we have to choose from in this country - no abortions ever, or no limits on abortions ever, I'm afraid I have to go with the restrictive one. I cannot abide killing babies - which anything after viability is. The parties will continue to demagogue the issue, and raise money off of it until they finally settle on what is self-evident to the rest of the world (abortions legal until 15 - 20 weeks). It will happen state by state, with Republicans taking a beating in Red states until they get the message, while Democrats running for national office from dark blue states have to explain why they support elective abortions at term.

LOL claiming Democrats are trying to legalize abortion at 9 months to make them sound just as extreme as your party that actually accomplished making them illegal at 0 weeks in a large part of the nation.

Also lol this part. Yeah senators had no effect on abortion when they're the ones who put those three ty Republican justices on the supreme court to overturn Roe.

It makes you wonder if 51% of the state is mentally re ed, tbh.

To be fair, though, a lot of early vote was already out prior to the debate.

Or, try to follow here, 51% of the state preferred to elect a former Lieutenant Governor and mayor to a daytime talk show host from New Jersey. I know it's hard to see past that magic (R) but maybe you'll get there.

What office has he held in his head and does he carry a badge for that office?
Fetterman had a stroke and can think. Herschel obviously has personality disorder(s) and has done what besides run into people in a very violent manner and can do a ton of sit ups?
